I think I'd like to go out on a date. But I guess what I'm imagining is being able to not worry about all the other stuff. I just wanna be around my wife. It's nice when we get to talk together. It's pretty late tonight already, though, so right now, no talking, just sleeping. But some other day. When we're both well-rested, which is a fantasy in and of itself.

It was nice tonight to be around all the people talking about how nice it was tonight. That was very nice.

Date. A date. October 7th. A fine date. Not quite a week after my dad died. Is everything in relation to that? Sometimes I wonder if my brain obsesses about things because it knows something I don't. Like if I can just think something hard enough, I can change the past. Make my dad go to the hospital on, like, October 2nd at 5pm Central, wait in the waiting room, tell them about his chest pain and his history of chest pain that he's been putting off telling them about. Oh, that might not be fair. He told them. And he was getting his blood pressure down through diet changes.

What's the deal? The deal is that diets are diets.

The deal is that a date is something you eat.
