Hello to all who are part of this community, I am glad to greet you in another year that has just begun, I hope you had a very good end of the year day, mine was a little chaotic but ended quite well I must say. A few days ago (last year hahahaha, ok bad joke), I saw one of the works of Hayao Miyazaki with Studio Ghibli that well you know that most of the films of the studio and Miyazaki are works of art and this in particular I am ashamed to admit it but, I had never seen it and that many people have talked about it, today in my first publication of the year in the community I will talk about Howl's Moving Castle.

Howl's Moving Castle (Howl no Ugoku Shiro) is a film directed by Hayao Miyazaki and released in 2004 (which just this year turns 20) which is based on the novel of the same name by Diana Wynne Jones. The plot centers on Sophie, a young milliner who meets Howl on her way to visit her sister Lettie and suddenly some strange creatures chase them but they manage to escape and Howl leaves Sophie right where her sister works. Upon returning, she meets the witch of the moor who casts a spell on her and turns her into an old woman. Seeking to break the curse, Sophie leaves her home and sets out on a journey, on the way she meets a scarecrow she decides to call Turnip, he shows her the way to Howl's castle where Calcifier, a fire demon in charge of maintaining the castle's energy and Markl, who is a young disciple of Howl, who, when he arrives, Sophie says that Calcifier let her in and proclaims herself the cleaning lady of the house which, to me, was very funny.

I don't want to tell you the whole movie because the idea is not to make spoilers, I know that many people don't like spoilers (personally I don't care, rather it motivates me to see or not to see something) so I'll just tell you that the country where Sophie is from is at war. Now I will tell you what I think of this movie, in short, I loved it and I don't know why I haven't seen it for so long, the animation is very nice and fluid, the landscape shots are also beautiful, the soundtrack is wonderful and I think it is everything you can expect from a Miyazaki movie, I really like the character of Sophie who, as I understood, is a young girl with the soul of an old woman, I like that the film doesn't portray her as a negative and bitter old woman, a person who simply accepts that she is cursed and doesn't take care of it or do anything to reverse it, but she takes charge and is very active in the plot, the other characters are also charismatic and I liked them a lot, especially Calcifier.

I don't know if I've become a fan of the studio and the director, but so far in my subjectivity, I haven't disliked any movie I've seen of theirs, but well, tell me what you think about it, I'm still with the late night and yesterday's dinner. Thank you very much for reading me and see you later in another post ❤️
