Hoy quiero compartir mi opinión sobre esto, porque estoy firmemente en contra de que se les exija fijar una postura pública, y mucho menos de que se les juzgue si deciden no hacerlo.

It really bothers me to see how the digital mob attacks an influencer or an athlete, labeling them “lukewarm,” a coward, or indifferent to the country’s reality just for keeping their opinion in the private sphere. Not taking a public stance doesn’t make you any less Colombian, nor intolerant, nor apathetic. It simply means that you understand the responsibility that comes with your reach and that you prefer to respect the diversity of your audience.
Demanding that someone who makes comedy videos, sings, or plays soccer take on the role of a political analyst is a mistake. Even worse is the culture of cancellation that erupts if that person decides to exercise caution. We live in a society fractured enough that we also seek to destroy the few remaining spaces for entertainment or sports, turning them into political battlegrounds.

Cumplir con el deber ciudadano de salir a votar es una obligación moral con el futuro del país, claro que sí; pero hacer campaña pública no lo es. Existe una línea muy delgada entre invitar a la gente a participar en las urnas y verse obligado a colgarse la camiseta de un candidato para evitar el linchamiento digital.
Me molesta mucho ver cómo la masa digital ataca a un influencer o a un deportista tildándolo de "tibio", cobarde o indiferente con la realidad del país solo por mantener su opinión en la esfera privada. No fijar una postura pública no te hace menos colombiano, ni intolerante, ni apático. Significa, simplemente, que entiendes la responsabilidad de tu alcance y que prefieres respetar la diversidad de tu audiencia.
Exigirle a alguien que hace videos de humor, que canta o que juega al fútbol que asuma un rol de analista político es un error. Peor aún es la cultura de la cancelación que se desata si esa persona decide guardar prudencia. Vivimos en una sociedad lo suficientemente fracturada como para que también pretendamos destruir los pocos espacios de entretenimiento o deporte que nos quedan, convirtiéndolos en trincheras políticas.
