The Hive Power Up Day has truly become an important moment in the life of our community and, once again, this edition did not disappoint us.

While we were expecting lower participation given the current bull run of the HIVE price, we still broke the previous record for the number of participants! This testifies to the motivation of the Hive community to stay mobilized for this event.

A few words from the PUD organizers

traciyork@traciyork

No foolin', this is the second time in the past few months that Hive Power Up Day happened during an HBD surge (but this one was much closer to the moon!), and I get the feeling the same thing is happening this time around - lots of excitement on Twitter and Hive, but lower numbers of participation overall. However, that doesn't change how awesomesauce the day was - seeing everyone chatting on social media about how excited they are to stake more Hive to me means so much more than whatever the total ends up being.

Thanks to everyone who participated in whatever way (big, small, or in between) to make this day a look forward to every month! And special thanks to @HiveBuzz for always BEEing such an amazing buzz-maker for Power Up Day, and our blockchain home in general!

What are the PUD stats of this month?

As mentioned above, we didn't break a record this time around. This is undoubtedly due to the crypto rally which saw the price of HIVE go up, making it a bit more difficult to acquire HIVE for a power-up.

But let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers.

We have 17 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 23 people to get their PUD badge.

Special kudos to those who were helping several accounts:
junkfeathers@junkfeathers (4), p3ntar0u@p3ntar0u (2) and kwame89@kwame89 (2)

Together, the helpers gifted 291,773 HIVE!

Here is the complete list of helpers and their donation:
shmoogleosukami@shmoogleosukami (50.00), p3ntar0u@p3ntar0u (48.26), junkfeathers@junkfeathers (40.00), kwame89@kwame89 (20.00), tsunsica@tsunsica (11.30), traciyork@traciyork (11.11), schlees@schlees (11.00), fronttowardenemy@fronttowardenemy (10.10), alexvan@alexvan (10.00), androshchuk@androshchuk (10.00), carlagonz@carlagonz (10.00), ctrpch@ctrpch (10.00), emsenn0@emsenn0 (10.00), kubak@kubak (10.00), melinda010100@melinda010100 (10.00), recording-box@recording-box (10.00)and vokus@vokus (10.00).

A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.

We now have 99 users who helped at least one less powerful user who never got any power-up from anyone. These benefactors got the so coveted Power Up Helper badge:

(List by number of helpees)

Remember that the number of people you are helping will have a significant influence on the delegations we will do.

But before writing about that, take a look at how you did against the previous editions:

As mentioned in this post's introduction, we have a new record for the number of participants with 405 users who powered up their HIVE.

As expected, no record for the volume of HIVE that have been powered up. 79224 HIVE have been staked. Definitely not the best score, but not the lowest either.

Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:

The big power-ups suffered the most with only 22 big stakers who got the Jumbo-Bee thanks to a power-up of at least 1000 HIVE!

Congrats to sandymeyer@sandymeyer (10000), carrinm@carrinm (5004,337), cooperclub@cooperclub (3000), jarvie@jarvie (2000), jeenger@jeenger (2000), dendendenden@dendendenden (1895), newparadigmtt@newparadigmtt (1850), raffy@raffy (1822), daltono@daltono (1756), samstonehill@samstonehill (1506), spartacus84@spartacus84 (1500), ddrfr33k@ddrfr33k (1500), justaboutart@justaboutart (1314), ashtv@ashtv (1249), ewkaw@ewkaw (1100), blue.rabbit@blue.rabbit (1070), howweroll@howweroll (1029), jmere@jmere (1019), deepresearch@deepresearch (1001), pouchon@pouchon (1000) and thebluewin@thebluewin (1000).
(List by amount of Hive powered up)

On the other hand, we have a new record of “small” participants. An understandable change.

Hive Power delegations

Since the beginning of the year, we are rewarding regular participants and those who have also been generous in helping others by offering a 3 weeks Hive Power delegations.
To be eligible for a delegation:

  • you must have participated in this Power Up Day.
  • You must have performed at least 5 power-ups on Power Up Day. Power-up received from another user is not taken into account.
  • 4 of these 5 power-ups must have been done on the last 5 Power Up Days (including this one).

The last rule has been slightly modified from what we announced in order not to penalize those who unfortunately missed a PUD (shit happens). This allows us to support a bit more participants and reward your commitment and consistency.

To compute the amount of HP delegated to each user, we use the following criteria:

  • The number of power-ups performed.
  • The number and levels of power-ups you have performed (ex: you made two "level 3" and three "level 5" power-ups).
  • The number of people you helped to power-up and the amount involved.

This month we will delegate no less than 3616 HP to 102 users
