In this post, you are going to see Madeira from another angle. We left the island by ship and got to see some really nice views over the island on the water. The ship departed quite early in the morning and the sunrise lighting was pretty gorgeous to see. We left Madeira to go and visit the nearby small island named Porto Santo which is only 5 or so kilometers wide and 10 kilometers long.
Porto Santo is a part of the Madeira archipelago but even of these islands are close, they are nothing alike by how nature looks. You will see about it soon enough.
The photos of Madeira from the ocean.
The airport of Madeira is one of a kind.
The eastern peninsula of Madeira island. We hiked that part on our second day in Madeira.
The water was so blue.
Lighthouse on top of the peninsula.
It took about 2 and a half hours to reach Porto Santo by sea but it seems like I don't have any photos taken of this island when we were on the water. Here is a teaser of this island. It's more like a desert and that's why it doesn't look anything like Madeira. I have many locations to show you that we visited during the two days we spent there.
It's also cool that no one has pinned any posts of Porto Santo on @pinmapple so I might be the only one on Hive who has visited this small place in the Atlantic! Stay tuned...
