The "Easy Peasy" Universe
"Easy peasy," that's what the doctor told my brother right after he finished his stress test. But that crap was a sick joke because immediately after, he told him he needed a cardiac catheterization.
Turns out that when my brother went down to the clinic's administration desk to ask about the damn procedure, it cost around 1,500 dollars. By sheer dumb luck, my brother didn't have another heart attack right there.
But the worst part is that the admin guy assured him it was a piece of cake.
Feels like we live in a country where people are in completely different, parallel universes, and we're stuck in the worst one of all, a lot like the ones Stuart lives in (HBO). Now I agree with him: neither Stuart nor I, nor anyone, manages to save the universe.
In the "piece of cake" universe, everyone makes enough money, and the food and public utilities are top-notch. The country’s management has nothing to do with corruption or bad governance. Meanwhile, in Leonardo's universe, things are completely fucked.
The pension doesn't even reach three dollars, and don't even get me started on the rest. Damn, I even ran out of sugar for my coffee, and there's no money.
I just can't stand that little phrase "piece of cake" anymore. In this universe, it's all about "hard bread," where trying to have good health costs you your health.
So much for my five hard minutes. It’s been a while since I last wrote.
