English
I'm sure the most talked about word on the planet is love. I think it is on our lips much more than the words mom and dad. Love is a curse placed on us, the condemnation for something some ancestor did that we must pay for. The human being today, in the XXI century, with all the technology, has not been able to know what happens after death. The same happens with the blessed or cursed love.
It is not understood why we lose control of our lives when love appears. And that thing dawns on one from the first moment we arrive on the planet. Looking at it coldly, love is dependence. Yes, it's as simple as that. We need to depend on someone and to top it off we want someone to need us. What a crazy thing to say. There will be more than one who will say that this is interaction, connection.
If we look at history or the most ancient and well-known writers, we see how love is the cause of cowards showing extraordinary bravery. I also accuse it as the origin of fights in social circles, it is the detonator of wars.
Love is so destructive that it provokes hatred, creates jealousy, and causes disappointments, anxiety, and sadness. There is nothing bad that is not born of love. In other words, love is something contradictory, a force that could be magic or a spell that can disturb the mind. I would dare to say that love is darkness and controversy. It raises the spirit to the highest peak and then throws it into the deepest darkest of abysses.
In the coward it makes him become a hero willing to face any danger. He seeks to protect what he considers his own. You see? It brings out from within us the faculty of ownership. The coward becomes brave to protect what he believes to be his, whether it be a thing or worse, another human being. It is true, it is not only the coward who acts this way.
When we fall in love, we encounter another negative facet of love; anxiety. Uncertainty begins, with constant worry, and this anxiety becomes an obstacle to happiness. Everyone who has said they have felt love has cried. Even the green monster from MARVEL. Love is pain, and sadness and causes disappointment. If you are rejected or betrayed, love leaves indelible scars and leads to distrust. How unhappy a being is with love.
History has shown us that love has been a catalyst for conflict, leading to war. We turn to the words of Homer, and Shakespeare and see how confrontation is born of love. We turn and look at the news pages of the press and we will see the violence created by love. Love is the worst of human beings when it becomes possession, envy, or revenge. Conversion is a thin thread.
When love is perverted, when it becomes obsession or control, it can lead to the destruction of the self and those around it. Love does not respect the freedom and dignity of the other. It is a road to hell, perdition. We are tired of seeing unhappy people because they have a disturbed, insecure partner, who does not let them be and does not show them that there is trust.
Love, a phenomenon that can inspire the best and the worst. It is a mystery that defies comprehension. There can be no doubt, that love, in all its facets, is a fundamental part of life. Hopefully, science can help us and save us from all the negative things that love leaves us with.
I understand that you see me as the Grinch, but I haven't said anything that isn't true. But regardless, love is the essence of human goodness, the connection to the divine. Selfless love is seen as a manifestation of grace, a reflection of God's mercy.
I propose you review with a cold head the bad things of love against the good things. I'm sure you'll come to the same conclusion I did; human beings are masochists.
