It has been raining here for the last two days with just a few hours respite, I have even had problems getting five thousand steps for my ACTIFIT report because apart from the rain the streets are flooded.
Then we already have people scared because of the Corona virus, a case has already been detected in Mexico and it is not a long distance from there to here and our health system is a shambles so if it does get here it will most likely spread very quickly. Now I have been looking at some numbers and it seems this virus is mortal when it attacks the more vulnerable like the elderly, people with respiratory ailments and people who take no actions against it.
The mortality rate is a little over 2% so it is not as bad as AIDS, which by the way when it appeared over thirty five years ago was supposed to contaminate most of the world's population and was responsible for my sex life going to the crapper. Yet AIDS never did approach the figures it was supposed to, I am hoping the same will happen with this virus, and that a cure can be found quickly. I wonder if those who have taken flu shots are more or less prone to catch this virus. If they are more prone it would be a good case for conspiracy theorists, but that data I guess will be very hard to obtain.
The markets suffered a lot this week getting record high losses in a day and overall losing a lot of money, like trillions. The crypto market is down and it seems it can't get some support to get out of where it is, Steem is not doing as bad as most others but its price is still very low.
Which makes me ask a question, suppose this meeting with Justin Sun goes bad, what will happen with Steem? My guess is it would tank, so I guess the soft fork is just an attempt to get something from Justin Sun before he takes over completely, because I actually don't think the top 20 witnesses will remain in place. I think anything Mr. Sun has planned will be agreed on. Then if this happens what do we as users do? Keep on posting? Sell whatever Steem we have? Start using Tron?
For now and the short term future I guess I will continue posting and wait to see what Justin Sun is planning, if I don't like it I will just leave, it all comes down to money though, if it is worthwhile most people will stay if not they will leave, very easy to foretell. What the witnesses get out of it will be seen in the next few months.
As for communities I really don't like them and have not even tried to understand them, looks like just more trouble to do the same thing to me, I know a lot of people are nearly in love with them but I just haven't seen anything to make me like them. And then we have SMTs I wonder if they are still on the table?
And also what happens with Steem-engine? Will it continue as now or will communities be the end of it? I really like Steem-engine it makes me feel like I am a trader, but I just don't think it will survive.
