Hello, fellow runners. These have been difficult days for my country. We’re overcome with sadness in the face of this tragedy and the number of victims it has claimed. It’s normal for our enthusiasm to have waned a bit and for our spirits to be low. But in the midst of all this, running is a way to release tension and stress—a way to keep moving forward when things seem tough.

Today I went out for my weekly long run, accompanied by my wife. My plan was to run for an hour and thirty minutes—enough time to cover a route I love because it has a variety of hills.

We spent the first 45 minutes talking about the coming week: personal plans and training plans. It was nice to share that moment and take our minds off things a bit with plans and dreams, despite the difficult situation.

On the way back, I decided to ramp up the intensity of my workout a bit. Every 10 minutes, I incorporated three minutes of running at 85% of my maximum pace. Feeling that effort reminded me that, even though there are tough moments, our bodies can respond, and our minds can also find room for strength and hope.

Running is much more than just exercise; it’s therapy, a moment to connect with ourselves and sometimes with those around us. In these difficult times, going for a run helps me recharge and reminds me that, even though the road is tough, I’m still moving forward, step by step at a time.

I’m sending you all lots of strength, team, and I encourage you to find your own moment to get moving.
