It was good not great but that's ok, I didn't expect the latter. Saturday is here now and that makes me happy and I'm glad of it because I love my weekends and the opportunity to get deeper into my life and do what I truly enjoy which is what I'll be doing this weekend.

I began a new role in last the working week, not something I'm unfamiliar with of course, just a new opportunity that came up and I grabbed with both hands because it's a good one. Good not great...work is never going to be great for me and besides, good is enough for me. I'm not one of those people who puts work over and above my own life, life is too short for that shit, so as long as it's good I'm content; Oh, the money has to be great though, I don't work for fucken peanuts because I know my value and am worth what I'm paid.

Anyway, it's the weekend and let me talk about what's in my title.

S.ex

Shooting excellence is what I mean, something I've spent almost 35 years working to achieve.

I'm a long range shooter but obviously shoot other disciplines like shotgun and handguns, among other things, and not being excellent at it is something I'm not willing to accept so I practice and train and study a lot which means going to gun ranges and private properties depending on what I'm keen to practice, train or study.

The goal is shooting excellence, not perfection because only fools and dreamers believe in perfection.

A week or so ago, I took a cold bore shot at 863 metres and something died which you can read about in this short post and this weekend I'm heading out to a private property where I'll be shooting a lot farther, 1400 metres and more with my .300WM rifle system as I work to sharpen skills a little more. Shooting is a perishable skill meaning if one doesn't keep doing it the skill diminishes and that doesn't sit well with me...so I work at it and will do so until I can't physically do it any longer.

I'm looking forward to the drive out to the property a few hours from home and an overnight stay there. I'm taking my girl-human so we'll camp out, have a fire and besides the ambition of S.ex there's going to be some other activities revolving around those three letters...under the stars...but I'll do a post with video and photos at some later stage. Not really 😶
