A part my personality that I never really talk about is my love for tattoos and piercings. There is something about it that drew me in when I was young, and I find that I still enjoy it.

There are many people that have many different opinions about it, but it is one of those things I don't debate about anymore. I just do my thing, and not really worry about others opinions. That can be a dark road to go down. When other's opinions start to weigh on your own.

I firat started piercing when I was 16. I went to the mall with my mom and we went to the store Limited Too. I had a friend that worked there, and she gave me my first piercings. I started with two. I pierced my left ear. One in the lobe and one that is further up and is now in the third position on my ear.

The following year I pierced my other ear. I can remember that pretty clear. I was in my best friend's kitchen and we pierced each other's ears. I did both of his lobes, and he did the lobe and second hole on my right ear.

When I was a junior in high school I was involved with different sports and activities. I met someone that had her ears gauged up and I was fascinated. She had some sweet acrylic earrings that were 14 gauge and they were neon green! She eventually gave those to me, and my love for gauged earrings started.

By the time I graduated I had 4 in my left ear and 2 in my right. I had several different sizes and styles. Once I was out of school I toned it down a bit, but never stopped.

I explored with other piercings through my life as well. Both nipples, two belly button rings, and different none typical ear piercings.

Over the years I have had my earrings in and out. They have turned into something that I enjoy doing. I will gauge up and then let them go down.

When I was stepping out of my corporate job back in 2013 I gauged back up to a 0g. I wore those for years. I don't like anything flashy, and prefer something clear..just holes.

When we were homesteading in Missouri I stepped up to 00g. That is the biggest I have ever gone. When the novelty of that size wore off I let them close. They went down but you could still see through them.

Over the last couple of weeks I have been able ti step up the sizes pretty quickly. Since they have already been stretched, I didn't have to stretch much.

Today I made a step up from a 4g to a 2g. I have these amazing clay spirals that I will wear for a bit, and then put in some black tunnels...back to simple.

One thing I learned about piercings and tattoos as a homesteader is all about cleanliness. As long as they are clean you are good.

Like most things in my life I wanted to share on social media haha. I hope you all are enjoying our adventure.

If you have any sweet piercings (family friendly) lets see them in the comments!

Be well
