Our wounded soul and how to heal it

Each one of us walks every day with behaviors that sometimes we do not understand, with processes that are samples of a past seldom analyzed and a present that does not satisfy those dreams and longings that nests our soul.

That is why it is urgent to understand that since our gestation, birth and first years of life we live experiences that govern the today that we go through, from there come those marks that in some cases have left deep wounds or serve as a positive basis for our principles, values and habits, being mom, dad and siblings the instruments of life used for it.

Now, I will focus on our wounds of the soul, those that incubate in our first stages of life, being more sensitive to the influence of the environment and the ways of relating to other people is when our brain registers the so-called childhood wounds, signals that emerge as adults and from which basic fears arise, before which the unconscious generates its own defense mechanisms.

Hence, our personality, the decisions we make, the attitudes and behaviors of our daily life are based on each of those childhood experiences: betrayal, rejection, criticism, lack of affection and valuation, making it clear in the words of Roberto Arocha that:

Everyone in childhood, in one way or another, consciously or
unconsciously, we received one or more emotional wounds.
emotional wounds.

It means then, that today we are acting as many times they acted with us, we repeat unconsciously attitudes and behaviors that others had with us, therefore it is necessary to live a healing process keeping in mind that:

"Healing does not mean that the damage never existed, but rather that
that which harmed us, no longer controls our lives."

Therefore, today is the indicated and opportune moment to make them conscious in order to heal them, having to go through three stages:

  1. I have the wound: It is the stage of identifying and recognizing that I have a wound which I do not like, but I understand that it is a past that I cannot modify.

Letting go of the wound: this is the stage of identifying, recognizing and accepting that I am not the wound, that I had a wound and it has influenced my personality, but it is not the one that decides how I will act.

  1. The path of forgiveness, at this moment I decide to forgive in order to move forward and not to emotionally drag whoever or whoever hurt me.

Remember, in many moments the pain will not let us move forward, being necessary to go at our own pace, without running over anything and with clarity to achieve the liberation of our soul.
