So what do you do on a cold rainy day when you can't go outside for that walk/run?

Why you jump on a machine of course! The only machine I own is an elliptical and today I wanted a real workout. You know, that one that brings on the pain and the beads of sweat. Oh yeah! That one.

I gotta say, from yesterday's walk and day events, my legs were feeling it a bit. So when getting on the elliptical I had to start with care. I want to make it through the workout not kill myself in 5 minutes.

So for the motivation and to set the mood, that one that just drives you to want it, you gotta get the right music. And for me, that music has got to have bass.

I started with 'Breathe' From Prodigy.

It's got a smooth start, just moving my legs to it and slowly speed it up as the music kicks up. It was a good warm up song for this intense session I gave myself.

After this song, already feeling the heat, I put on 'The River' Remix.

Seeing as how I was still feeling the soreness, I still needed to work it in, get my legs used to what I was doing. It's nice to push yourself, but push when the time is right. If you want to play the game, play it right.

Now, on a personal note, there is a really good reason why I gave myself such a workout. I needed one that is more intense than just my long walks. It's time to step it up.

We all exercise for the sole purpose of staying healthy and strong. But we also have other reasons that go along with that like wanting to gain more muscle mass, wanting to lost weight, wanting more endurance and to feel good about yourself.

For me, it's for a lot of those reasons. I need to lose weight, I want more endurance, I want to feel good about myself again and because losing pounds means that I am losing the life that I no longer want. I am getting rid of it all. I let myself be the last in line, I was careless and I accepted all that negative shit happen to me.

And so this workout is me coming out of this shell, this cocoon, shed that crap off and be who I am meant to be. Let it be in the past and now onto the greater things.

With this being my reason, there was no better track than 'Dark Times' From nickyhavey@nickyhavey.

For this track, I pushed it harder than the last two. I dove deep into the waves of this track and thought of only being free and shedding off the bad. That was my only care in the world at that time, so all my focus was on that.

I have to say, thank you for having the slower parts in that track Nicky! :D I needed to slow down at some point lol. In other words... careful, this is my Canadian showing, I gave her shit :P

So the point of the game is to keep moving. You want that sweat, but not die from the exercise. So when you need to stop, instead just slow down, go as slow as you want but keep moving, slow the heart rate down and catch your breath.
I ended up going backwards on the elliptical at a slow pace to slow things down and it helped with the heat I was feeling in my legs.

Next song!

'Can't Hold Us' by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton.

This is a great song. Gives the most feeling of no one being able to stop me. The fast beat is longer in this one, so everything I have done so far prepped me up for this one. Full speed ahead. "Here we go back, this is the moment, tonight is the night, we'll fight till it's over. So we put our hands up like the ceiling can't hold us, like the ceiling can't hold us"

This song got me pushing so hard, push through that wall and crush it!

Oh man was I feeling it after this one. I mean, I haven't been one to exercise before, so in all fairness, I think I did pretty good. But it's not over! No, I did not stop there. I pushed through a wall but I didn't get past them all.

I worked out to a few other songs like 'Hey Mama', 'Freaks' and 'Use Your Fist And Not Your Mouth' by Marilyn Manson. I enjoyed that one because I was able to let out some aggressiveness. Ya, totally! I'm all for it! If you need to, get angry, get pissed, push through that nasty ass wall, you will feel better once you do, I promise. Let it out and let it go.

The last song to my workout, the last wall I needed to push through for this one to say I have achieved the goal I was aiming for is a damn good one. It's a different one, I found it today and glad I stumbled upon it. It's aggressive, it's got that roaring scream and then it has this dubstep thing to it. I honestly thought I was listening to metal when I first heard it. But makes for an awesome track to work out to! Check it out, it's 'Kneel Before Me' by Slander and Crankdat featuring Asking Alexandria.

And that was it. I was done. I was kaput. I walked it off, slowing my heart beat and then plopped on my bed for the time I needed to catch my breath. Not sure if that was a bad thing, it was like 2 minutes.

The downfall is my Actifit count wasn't so high up, and after talking with cheese4ead@cheese4ead about it, it makes sense that it doesn't count it like steps because they are longer strides on the elliptical, not the same movement.

But, damn, do I ever feel good about what I had done! I want to do it again. Maybe not tomorrow because I am feeling it right now and it's always worse the next day, but who knows, maybe I can :)

All these tracks I have on my Spotify account, so if you have Spotify and you like these songs, definitely add them to your workout playlist and let me know what songs you workout to in the comments, would love to add more!
