I bought a digital pattern on Etsy for a classic wrap dress in multiple sizes. I printed my size, assembled the pattern and cut out the pieces from a funky print fabric my mom gave me from her stash. There was enough fabric for everything but the long sleeves. I got some basic black batiste from my stash of staple fabrics (I always have lightweight black and white fabrics for blouses, linings, etc.) to make the sleeves.
The black batiste actually matches the black lines in the stained-glass-like print, but the lighting I used makes it look rather dull.
So far I have used 15-30 minute sessions to get all the important markings done, darts sewn, and everything else ready for the serger. Next step is to finish the raw edges on all pieces, sew the waistline seams and shoulder seams, then pin the side seams and check the fit. I hope to post the finished dress soon, but I have some alterations to do first for customers. My dress will have to be patient for a little while.
