Tratando de responder a la pregunta de la iniciativa:

En la actualidad, ¿son necesarias las iniciativas?

Lo intentaré de la mejor manera y esperando poder aportar algo positivo con mi opinión, que posiblemente no coincida siempre con la mayoría.

¿Necesarias? No, útiles, creo que sí.

Si en la actualidad se percibe cierta apatía participativa, no creo que sea porque pasaron de moda las iniciativas; por el contrario, creo que son un gran aliciente para poner en movimiento a quienes se dicen a sí mismos: No se me ocurre nada.
En mi caso, que no soy muy dado a participar cuando entre los requisitos se imponen demasiadas reglas, con frecuencia encuentro en tales convocatorias temas de escritura, aunque luego la desarrolle a mi manera y lo haga en otra comunidad, para no chocar con sus normas.
No es el caso aquí y por eso esta es una de las comunidades que más frecuento, salvo la de los escritores libres, donde en ocasiones escribo acerca de los temas a que invitan a participar, sin hacerlo de forma explícita.
Prefiero andar a mi aire y a veces he estado tentado de publicar fuera de cualquier comunidad, pero la verdad, alguna vez lo hice y la visibilidad fue nula. Así que me acerco a las comunidades que me brindan esa libertad y comodidad.

Igual que hemos ido dejando atrás las viejas tecnologías por obsoletas o porque las nuevas se imponen por la comodidad y eficiencia, sospecho que no se ha dejado de participar por falta de interés en las iniciativas o porque los temas no sean lo suficientemente motivadores.
La cruda realidad es que, luego de haber promocionado el ecosistema como un espacio donde ganar recompensas monetarias, llevamos un largo tiempo en que el valor de la moneda no deja de caer, lo que resulta hasta deprimente.
Recuerdo que a algunos de ustedes los conocí cuando andaba de gira un señor Matt promocionando la criptoadopción y el pago con HBD en comercios, con la golosina de un reintegro, además de la recompensa si publicaba algunas fotos con la historia de la compra o consumo.

Ha pasado año y medio y en la actualidad hasta se congeló la emisión de HBD y cada vez que miro la billetera, observo cómo la cotización ha descendido otro milésimo.

Cuando me fijo en algún comentario y con más frecuencia en los votos recibidos, me fijo en los muchos nombres conocidos que al parecer siguen en el ecosistema, pero no publican o lo hacen en intervalos de meses o años. Me parece bien, cada quien es libre de hacer su voluntad, pero a algunos autores los echo de menos, pues en el pasado los leía con placer.

Parece que estamos viendo el ocaso de Hive, pero no su desaparición.
No guardo un recuerdo concreto de cuando el hive se cotizaba en 3 dólares o más, pero he leído acerca de ello. Puede que en los próximos días toquemos los 3 céntimos, pero tengo la convicción de que, como dicen, cuando la noche nos parece más oscura, está cerca el amanecer.

Una observación y sugerencia muy personal a quien me acompañó hasta aquí es que aproveche el momento y, considerando que si publica, lo está haciendo por el puro placer de hacerlo y no por la recompensa que pueda recibir. Que lo haga, que publique lo que le plazca, que no se autocensure, ni se proponga crear una obra maestra, que vierta libremente sus opiniones, simplemente respetando las buenas costumbres y el respeto habitual. Pero recordando que no tenemos que estar de acuerdo en todo.

Como siempre, escribo en mi lengua materna, el español, al que doy prioridad, y les comparto la traducción al inglés en consideración a quienes no lo entienden y por el motivo que sea no tienen acceso al servicio de un traductor.
En mi caso uso el de Google, que me permite acceder a traducciones en casi todos los idiomas del mundo para leer o responder a quienes se expresan en otras lenguas.

Are initiatives necessary today?

I will try my best and hope to contribute something positive with my opinion, which may not always coincide with the majority.

Necessary? No, useful, I think so.

If there is currently a perceived lack of participation, I don't think it's because initiatives have gone out of fashion; on the contrary, I think they are a great incentive to get those who tell themselves: "I can't think of anything" moving.

In my case, since I'm not one to participate when the requirements impose too many rules, I often find writing prompts in these calls for submissions, although I then develop them in my own way and post them in another community to avoid conflicting with their rules. This isn't the case here, which is why this is one of the communities I frequent most, except for the freelance writers' community, where I sometimes write about the topics they invite participation to address, without explicitly mentioning them. I prefer to work independently, and I've sometimes been tempted to publish outside of any community, but honestly, I did it once, and the visibility was nonexistent. So I gravitate towards communities that offer me that freedom and comfort.

Just as we've left behind old technologies because they're obsolete or because new ones prevail due to their convenience and efficiency, I suspect that the reason people haven't stopped participating isn't a lack of interest in the initiatives or because the topics aren't motivating enough.

The harsh reality is that, after promoting the ecosystem as a place to earn monetary rewards, the value of the currency has been steadily declining for quite some time, which is downright depressing.

I remember meeting some of you when a man named Matt was touring, promoting cryptocurrency adoption and paying with HBD in stores, offering the enticing prospect of a cashback, in addition to a reward if you posted photos with your purchase or usage story.

A year and a half has passed, and now even the issuance of HBD has been frozen. Every time I check my wallet, I see the price drop another thousandth.

When I look at comments, and more often at the votes received, I notice many familiar names who seem to still be part of the ecosystem, but don't publish or do so only every few months or years. That's fine by me; everyone is free to do as they please. But I miss some authors, as I used to read them with pleasure.

It seems we're witnessing the decline of Hive, but not its disappearance.

I don't have a specific memory of when Hive was trading at $3 or more, but I've read about it. We might reach 3 cents in the next few days, but I'm convinced that, as they say, when the night seems darkest, dawn is near.

A personal observation and suggestion for those who have accompanied me this far is to seize the moment and, considering that if you publish, you're doing it for the pure pleasure of it and not for any reward you might receive, go ahead, publish whatever you like, don't censor yourself, and don't try to create a masterpiece. Freely express your opinions, simply respecting good manners and common courtesy. But remember that we don't have to agree on everything.

As always, I write in my native language, Spanish, which I prioritize, and I share the English translation for those who don't understand it and, for whatever reason, don't have access to a translator.
