I have seen a lot of blogs recently about the bane of plagiarism. Some people have suggested running every post through a plagiarism check before upvoting and offered some good site to do so, and I agree in an ideal world this would be best practice.
However... we live in less then ideal world, many of us , myself included, a lazy, or time poor or to trusting. I see a good post I upvote it, I don’t think about plagiarism and I have read the articles on plagiarism!
Ok so I am not tech minded, I dont know the cost of things or what possible but POB is tracking pretty well right now, lets spend some ;)
So some proposals
A bot scans every articles and reports the % plagiarised in the comments with something snappy like "beep this blog has been plag-o-pob certified!"
Same as above but only scans when the post receives a certain amount of upvotes. If found to be plagiarised the bot comments but now @ all the upvotes above say.. 1 POB so they can be made aware.
The bot follows the POB in the top 50 list, and only checks posts they upvotes. If we alert the top whales it will make a difference
For some 10 to 20 POB a day can be good amount for a side hustle, we pay someone to scan posts for plagiarism
We offer a bounty for alerting correct plagiarism, you get paid 50%? Of what would have been paid out on a correctly identified posts. To prevent abuse bounty hunters would need to be of certain age old and rep above 50?
I guess what I am trying to provoke is a solution mindset not a problem one... so drops some ideas all, or rip mine to shreds , I don't mind I would just love to see some ideas !
