Right, wish list card number two, and this one surprised even me.
If you read the last one you will know I have fallen back in love with these cards, and the full art ones especially. Well, this next card is a bit of an odd duck, because I do not normally care much for Goldeen. It has never been one I would go out of my way for. And yet here it is on my list.
What got me was the tranquility of it. That is the only word for it. Goldeen is in there with all its friends, just chilling, and then there is that one Goldeen staring up through the sun beams. Something about that stopped me in my tracks. It is a peaceful card all around, and the graphic looks really crisp too, nice and sharp.
Now here is the interesting bit for anyone who likes the collecting side of things. This card has the same artwork in both the Japanese and the English version, but they sit in different sets, which you do not see all that often (that I know of I am new to this)
The English one is Goldeen #87, from Pitch Black. It is fairly new, so it is still finding its price point, sitting around $20 at the moment.
The Japanese one is Goldeen #84, from Abyss Eye. That one has settled down to about $9 and stayed there, so you know where you stand with it.
So same beautiful scene, two different homes, and a decent gap in price. I keep going back and forth on which way to jump on this one.
Either way, it is on the list now. Funny how a card for a Pokemon I never really rated has ended up being one I cannot stop looking at. That is half the fun of getting back into this.
