RE: Advice I Wish I Never Gave
I bet that was scary! It's great that you have that kind of trust in your children, it means you raised them well. I'm SO much more careful about advice. Crypto taught me that. During the boom-years

RE: Should Boy George Have been Pulled from Streaming Platforms?
Free speech is ideal, in theory. In practice it can be bit more tricky —especially in today's world where everyone is so polarized and just a few steps away from snapping. I remember when the original

RE: In Memory of Jackie: Lessons from a Nest High Above Big Bear Valley
You're welcome! They've become such a huge part of our lives. My wife having the honor of naming one this year made it all the more special. Their newest eaglets, Sandy and Luna have left Big Bear Valley.

Something is attacking ours. They regularly show up at the feeders with battle scars, those lucky enough to walk away.

The atomic typo sounds as serious as it is! Lol. So true about the dumbing-down. Add the dwindling attention spans and authors could probably get away with just about anything. That breaks my heart to

RE: Advice I Wish I Never Gave
I remember my mother-in-law asking me all kinds of questions about a life insurance policy a few years before she passed. I worked in the insurance industry but wasn't at all knowledgable about life insurance.

I don't miss those meetings and conference calls! Our upper management loved useless meetings. It certainly does feel like we're near the bottom here for BTC. It was impressive that it didn't move further

That's a ton of art for such a small town! I love to see those old ghost signs. There are still quite a few of them in downtown St. Paul.

RE: Tough days ahead.
It's been a very strange summer here in Minnesota. The heat/humidity has been off the charts since early June and we've had virtually no rain. Now as we ease into August (which is typically our hottest

It's very sad. Nature can been very harsh. They think it was some kind of infection that caused blood clots. They found clots in the kidneys and her wing. This family of eagles were instrumental in helping

It was! It's looking like Shadow might be pairing up with a younger female now. If so, and they keep the nest, the eagle cam will live on.

Yes! Shadow was just a youngster when Jackie originally paired up with him. She was robbing the cradle (or was it the nest?). It's been quite the education for us. Our son is captivated by it as well.

Most municipalities pass on a portion of the data centers’ power usage to the citizens nearby through higher rates for “peak usage.” Thanks, it was great catching up. Enjoy the garden!

Thanks Jay! We have a ton here too. They're more active during certain times of the year but it's fairly common to look up and see one soaring. I think, at their worst, the population was down to a few

Me too. I miss so many people who used to write here! My blogs are beginning to feel more like a personal journal, which is okay too I guess. I think the trend has moved away from my style of writing.

It was horrendous! I guess it was more like a day...I took the THC oil around 5pm and was just beginning to feel normal later the next afternoon. I have a greater respect for it now. Lol.

The problem with data centers is water pollution (heavy metals/microplastics) and higher energy bills for us. Cell towers are a huge concern!
