Free speech is ideal, in theory. In practice it can be bit more tricky —especially in today's world where everyone is so polarized and just a few steps away from snapping. I remember when the original platform this place forked from began the plan was total free speech but then human emotion/tribalism got involved and that didn't last long as people were downvoted into oblivion or ignored until they left. They've also experimented with free speech on the X platform as well. The Community Notes feature on X helps identify/label falsehoods but their algo now throttles certain accounts down and amplifies others and it certainly does seem that they're rewarding right-leaning content. It's really tough. These days I think if you have a lot of followers you have to decide if you want to use your art to entertain them or use your fame to share your political/social views and opinions in the hope of changing things. I'm not sure it works out so great to do both anymore. I'm not saying that's right but that seems to be how it is now. It always has amazed me how, just because people have attained fame and fortune, that they believe they're smarter or more capable than the average joe. Like having more dollars instantly makes you smarter or more aware. Unfortunately, sometimes I think it's the other way around. : )
