Today is a national holiday in Brazil, celebrating Our Lady of Aparecida, and it is also Children's Day. I had a quiet day at home without going anywhere. I spent some quality time with my wife, watching movies on Netflix.

In the afternoon, I decided to make the most of my free time by upgrading my notebook. I installed a 1 TB NVMe SSD because my storage was getting full with all the software and files I had accumulated over time.

As you may know, memory and storage component prices have been rising considerably due to the growing demand driven by artificial intelligence. Fortunately, I managed to get this SSD at a fantastic discount! Since the delivery took longer than expected, the store gave me a generous discount, bringing the final price down to almost the same as a 500 GB model from the same product line. It was a great opportunity to double my storage capacity without spending much more.

The best part is that I also took the opportunity to clean the dust out of my notebook during the upgrade. After all, keeping the storage organized is important, but taking care of the cooling system is just as essential.

Now, I just need to keep an eye on the temperatures. My Acer Nitro V15 is about to turn one year old, so I plan to continue monitoring its temperature and replace the thermal paste only when there are signs that it actually needs to be changed. For now, the temperatures look good, so I don't see any reason to mess with it just yet.

What about you? Do you usually upgrade and maintain your own computers, or do you prefer taking them to a repair shop?
