I think it is about time I show some of tmy gardening work that I do recently at home. As some of you already know that I am only have a very small garden at home, so I try to keep it green so that I can have a little peace when I see my plant in the garden.
This time I want to try to redo the fertigation system, it is kind of semi-hydroponic system, where you need some water and also some fertilizeer solution. The reason is that I was still working when I started the system, so that my plant will keep rehydrated when I am not home, and also it still always get the nutrient from the fertilizer solution.
The system need a place to hold the water and the solution, a wick at the bottom of the polybag which will transport the water and the fertilizer to the soil in the polybag where the plant is growing. I did a great job when I did my first try a few years ago, before I never look back at it. But now things is different, as I am currently unemployed, and all I want to do is back to farming, and also gardening at my home.
So here is my chili plant that I have, and the one that I do the experiment again this time. because my goal was to do a chili farming in a bigger scale in the ricefield where my father cultivate.
This photo focus is sucks for sure. lol
Here is the leaf of the plant which I love. you can see the wrinkled leaf on the left side. It was the remnant of the sick leaf that was attacked by the aphids before i treat it with some pesticide.
I really like how it heal, and the new leaf look so healthy, and big as well.
Here you can see I use some 2 inch pipe for the water and the fertilizer container, which I put underneath the polybag.
Another view of the polybag and also the pipe underneath it. With this system all I need to do was to add the fertilizer solution when it is empty or run dry. I don't need to worry about watering the plant, as the wick will transport the fetilizer as well as the water to the soil where the cilli plant grow.
I also have the one that don't have the water container at the botton, so that at least I can have the comparison from the different system. But before I can do the comparison, I got another attack from a bigger pest, and as you can see in the photo below, the destruction it caused to the chilli plant's leaf.
Here is the culprit, and certainly I just can't used pesticide to solve the problem. What I need to do is to relocated the polybag so it will be out of reach of the dog. haha
