Good Morning.. How is your Saturday? This is the last Saturday of July, and it will be August soon.
I've been putting some time into plants these days. I've got this corner at my house where there is an aquarium, and next to the aquarium is the plant area. There are both aquatic plants and terrestrial plants.
I've got this very nice Water Hyacinth that I just bought recently. This is nature's best water purifier out there. I found out that it needs lots of sunlight to grow well. Next to the Water Hyacinth are some frogbits as well as Pennyworts.
At the moment, I've got a plan to create this mini aquatic world with mini colourful shrimps, but I have to get ready its enclosure first before I ever do such a thing. So, at the moment, I am doing a bit of work to find out what the best way is to plant these aquatic plants.
I also have some mollies being raised inside the water to avoid mosquitoes from breeding here. It keeps the surroundings cool too from the water evaporation during hot days.
This was a small plant but has grown a lot. This plant gets lots of sunlight. One of the things I like about this evergreen shrub is that it has these large colourful patterns of yellow, red and green. The leaves also tend to grow big in size.
This is the Ficus Lyrata. One of my favourite plants around the house. It used to be quite short but now has grown taller than me.
One of the newest plants at home. Some of the newer leaves have grown.
Here in Malaysia, it is also called the Bodi plant. The beauty comes from the leaves, which are round in shape, and there is a difference in colours between the lower part and upper part of the leaf.
I placed it in a place around the house where it gets enough sunlight but also shades itself during the super hot hours of the day.
Just bought this recently. One of the special features of this plant is that its leaves can grow to a huge size. The leaves can grow really, really big. One of the best things about having lots of plants at home is that you know that some of the toxic gases are removed during the day as well as it gives you a sense of something different from what is the city life.
Putting the Water Hyacinth into the aquarium to see if it grows, but I noticed that the leaves have curled up so I've since transferred it to a place where there is a lot of sunlight and a lot of small hyacintch have started growing from it.
This is a Anthurium Jungle Bush that I saw at an aquarium shop and it's huge.
This is an amazing plant to have at home. It takes awhile before growing to this size.
