The raining season and my experience with my little water leaf garden.
So some months ago, I showed you how my water leaf garden was flourishing. Living in a town were there is no much land and space to plant. As a dweller you just need to do a little garden behind your house to grow few essentials. So I decided to do a little water leaf garden and it was growing very well. I needed to do this so as to cut cost of always buying everything at the market, at least having a little garden will help you get some vegetables handy .
When the raining season set in , the water leaf was still doing well, till when the rain was too serious to the extent that it's now raining everyday. And I started noticing that it is gradually affecting the yield of my water leaf. The water leaf keep dying on daily basis. I believe that the water in the soil is too much and the daily rain has also contributed in washing away the manure in the top soil, leaving the water leaf to lack adequate nutrients. There were days when heavy and daily rain caused water to stand around the garden. I quickly realized that excessive water was causing the root to rot and reduce the overall health of the plants. So to salvage this, I created small drainage channels around the garden to allow excess water to flow away.
So the rainy season has been both a blessing and a lesson for my little water leaf garden.
