Being unique does not mean believing everything you believe is automatically right.
A creative mind should be willing to question itself. Your perspective comes from your experiences, your environment, your knowledge, and the people around you. Someone else may have lived differently and therefore see something you completely missed.
That does not mean you have to abandon your beliefs. It means you are confident enough to examine them.
There is a difference between having your own opinion and being trapped inside your own opinion.
Real creativity comes from being curious. Look at things from different angles. Listen to people you disagree with. Ask why they think differently. Take what makes sense, reject what doesn’t, and allow new information to change your understanding.
You don’t become less unique by learning from others.
In fact, originality often comes from combining ideas that other people never thought to put together.
Think about music, art, business, science or even your personal life. The people who create something different usually aren’t copying one perspective. They’re observing, experimenting, questioning and connecting ideas.
You should have your own mind, but your mind should not be a locked room.
Be confident enough to say, “This is what I currently believe,” instead of “This is the only way to see it.”
Your perspective matters.
Other people’s perspectives matter too.
And sometimes, the smartest thing you can do is step outside your own viewpoint long enough to discover something you couldn’t see from inside it.
