The Power of Seeing Beyond Your Own Perspective. Be Open-Minded
One of the things that limit a lot of people is believing that their own way of seeing things is the best or the only way they can be seen. Imagine someone believing that their own opinion is always the best. It will make them to be cut off from welcoming other opinions that might potentially be beneficial to them. It is true that you should have your values, you should have your beliefs, because you have your own experiences, and you have understood the world in your own way. However, you have to understand that the world you know, and the one you have experienced are just very tiny fragments compared to the world that exists. That is, it is only a small part of the whole picture that you have seen. This is the reason why you have to be learn to be open-minded, so as to see the world and other things in whole different perspective.

Being open-minded simply means being willing to consider and welcome new ideas that are different from your own, listen to other people's opinions, learn from what they know, and accept that your own answers are not always the most correct or the best. This does not mean that you should abandon your principles and your values, neither does it mean that you should accept everything that you hear or see. Rather it means that you are humble enough to analyse and examine other options and perceptions before arriving at a conclusion. You have to understand that being open-minded creates room for more growth. Beyond that, it also makes you to explore other opportunities.
There are important areas that you need to be open-minded. The first one concerns your relationship and dealings with people. Do not judge people solely because of their background, their appearance, their profession, their status, or even because of the mistake they made in the past. You have to understand that people are very complicated and are also complex, so as such, there is always more to their story than you can see on the outside. You have to learn to give people the opportunity to prove who they really are. In the process, you might even get insight, discover wisdom, or kindness, or see potentials in them that you would have ignored.
You need to also be open-minded when it comes to learning. Do not assume that you know everything that you are supposed to know. Knowledge is dynamic and constantly evolving, so there will always be something new to learn. This is why you have to be willing to learn from even younger ones, from your colleagues, from books, and even from the people who do not agree with you. After all, they do not need to agree with you before you can learn from them. You will be surprised to know that some of the greatest lessons that you will learn can be taught by the people you least expect, and can come from places you least expect.

In addition to being open-minded about learning, you also need to be open-minded about opportunities. Some people have missed life-changing opportunity, not because it did not come, but because it did not look like what they expected. You may have a mental picture of what success should look like, but it can turn out to follow a different path. Of course, life and opportunities will not always play by your rules. This is why you have to be willing and ready to explore new things, new careers, new relationships, skills, businesses, experiences, and even new environment. Just to let you know, the breakthrough you are waiting for could come from the door that you have never opened before.
While being open-minded to opportunities, you also need to be open-minded about change. It is true that change can be uncomfortable sometimes, but refusing change actually carries a far greater cost. As the world changes, and as life evolves, you have to be willing to adapt. The format and the strategy that worked for you yesterday may not produce the required result today. You may not love change, but you have to understand that it is a very vital requirement for growth. If you must achieve success, and if you must be outstanding, then you have to be willing to do the extra, welcome change, and then turn it into your ally.
