I was supposed to be giving a tour of our facility. Thank God I had remembered at the last minute! My black hair was gleaming, my makeup was subtle and understated, and the two gentlemen that arrived were both drop-dead GORGEOUS.
"Hi, I'm Allison." I reached out to shake both of their hands. Strong grip. Very manly. ooh la la! The second man held my hand a little longer than usual. I didn't see a wedding ring on the businessman's hand. I think my cheeks blushed pink!
"Hi Allison. I'm Gerard. I'll be the translator for Mr. Reese today."
"Thank you, Gerard. Please tell Mr. Reese that I'm happy to show him our facility. I think he will really love the new model that we've built for his company."
The translator spoke fast in a elegant language. "Allison says that after she finished the tour of the facility, she would love to discuss more of your future plans over dinner, Sir." I didn't understand what the man had said, but I could see that Mr. Reese was thrilled.
I looked at my watch. I had blocked out my entire afternoon to drive through the operations plant and show them each detail of the designs, but, dinner? With a billionaire? How could I resist? "Well, certainly, I'd be honored! We could easily use the slideshow presentation on my laptop, if he would like that?"
The translator thought quickly, "She is short on time, which is why she looked at her watch. Instead of dinner, she suggests that you leave immediately and have a light lunch, followed by a flight in the new jet. She said that it might be beneficial to actually see the craft in action before you're ready to purchase."
I was in absolute awe. This was NOT how I had planned my day! But, it was turning into the most incredible day ever!
It's been 14 years since we've been married, and both of us insist that it was a good thing that the OTHER ONE had pursued the relationship. Little did we know, Gerard the Translator was quite the matchmaker that day!
