To be honest, both my daughters are very career-minded and so I was resigned to probably kicking the bucket before either of the twins even contemplated motherhood and then last year Monique announced she was pregnant. \o/
As the time came closer to the birth it became obvious Ethan was going to be a big lad and clearly had inherited his father's legs which are also long.
Monique went into labor on Friday night at around 23:30 by 05:00 there was still no news other than she was bouncing around on a ball in the hope, I suppose, that she could dislodge him? 🤣
By midday there was still no news and the wife and I was beginning to get a bit worried. Monique was adamant that she didn't want a Caesarean but given the reason, they had admitted her was that Ethan was a bit too well developed I wondered if she might have been better with a C section.
By late afternoon we still didn't have any news from the hospital and were starting to wonder if we would get a phone call in the middle of the night? At around 20:00 we had a Text which said "Say hello to Ethan." Monique had in fact given birth by emergency Caesarean at 15:31 to an 8lb 60z baby (We already knew it was a boy). We suspect the delay in telling everyone was due to the complications and stress they had been under. Unfortunately, Monique has Sepsis at the moment so I doubt she'll be released from the hospital yet and with the current NHS COVID restrictions in place, we will have to wait for mother and baby to leave the hospital before we can hold him.
Everything is working with him, he's eating pooing and peeing and has no idea just how much he will be spoilt rotten or maybe he does and that's why he's getting some rest? ❤️
