Terrific — My body suffered from unexplainable pain. It was 4 a.m. on November 12, 2025, when I was rushed to the nearest hospital. I had been waiting for this moment for five years, but I never expected the level of pain I would experience or the challenges I would face while giving birth.
After checking my vitals, I was finally permitted to enter the labor room at exactly 6 a.m. The room was tidy and spacious. I saw a lady drowning in pain on the other side of the room. She talked to me about her journey, and I was surprised when she told me that she had already been staying there for 48 hours.
As I lay in bed, I started to feel the pain. The nurses kept checking the opening of my cervix from time to time, but unfortunately, my progress was too slow, and I was losing more water. I was crying in pain for 15 hours, and they placed me under red alert status. I was feeling thirsty, so I asked for some water to drink, but they didn't allow me to have any.
My doctor was still hoping for the best for me. She believed that my body could still handle it because all of my vital signs were still good. After another four hours of waiting, they finally decided to send me to the delivery room. They instructed me on everything I needed to do to keep the baby safe as she came out of my womb. I saw four ladies around me working together to help. I pushed three times, and then the baby came out successfully. Everyone was smiling after seeing a baby girl born on November 13. They told me that she was the only baby girl born in the hospital that day.
I had lost too much water, so the pediatrician placed my baby under observation. She ran a series of tests and gave her antibiotics just to make sure that she would remain in good condition. Thankfully, after spending one week in the hospital while waiting for the results, my baby was perfectly healthy. Although we stayed in a public hospital, they treated us very well. They even provided food and water for free. The ward room was also comfortable, clean, and properly ventilated.
I was able to handle everything because my husband stayed with me. He was the one who processed the necessary documents, and he provided all the things that I and the baby needed. We are so lucky to have him. Even though I didn't see any of our family members visiting us, we still managed to go home safely.
At that moment, I realized that having a responsible partner is really important because his support truly mattered. Seeing him sleepless and tired eased my pain and helped me gain more strength to recover faster. It wasn't because he suffered as well, but because I felt loved and cared for.
Finally, after five years of marriage, God gave us a beautiful and healthy baby girl, who is now nine months old. We promised to provide for her and take care of her for as long as we live. Seeing her laugh and have fun every day has made us proud parents.
As of now, we are doing our best. My husband and I share responsibilities in managing our household and taking care of the baby, as it requires a lot of effort and time. Despite all the challenges, we are grateful for this beautiful blessing and for the journey that brought us to where we are today.
