Ethan is a small boy, he is just fifteen years old. He loves watching horror movies. Every time he watches a horror movie at night, he stays awake all night watching it. His mother would sleep off and wake up to find him still watching movies. She would then switch off the television and force him to go and sleep. Because he has no choice, he would go and sleep. He had been doing that with no effect, but one day, he stumbled upon a movie called The Dark Hole.
The Dark Hole is a horror film that is itself a nightmare. Ethan saw the advertisement of it during the day and saw that the film would be starting by 11:00 p.m. at night. He had to sleep in the afternoon just to prepare for watching the movie at night. He wouldn't want to sleep off while watching
In the evening that day, he went to bed early, and his mother thought that her son was gradually changing. But when he realised his mother had fallen asleep, he woke up, turned on the television, lowered the volume, and waited until 11:00 p.m.
Now, it was already 11:00 p.m., and the movie had just started. The movie was vampire-based, and it showed the levels at which different kinds of vampires operated, including the day workers and night workers. It was really a hectic one.
Ethan was a boy who was already familiar with such movies, but to show how strong this movie was, it was more of a nightmare. Ethan even began to get scared. The vampires in the movie ate humans like fruit. Ethan was all alone watching that movie. Soon enough, he became scared. As the movie continued, he became more frightened, and suddenly, he rushed and switched off the television. He went to bed, and that was the beginning of his own nightmare.
He went to sleep and dreamed about himself in the dark hole movie. The movie was about vampires trying to colonise the whole world by turning everyone into vampires. Everyone in the movie was for himself. Everyone was trying to run, hide, and survive. No one could withstand those vampires because they were outrageous. The only thing you could do was find safety, which was almost impossible. There is no way out.
Now, Ethan found himself in the middle of such a scenario. He ran for his life and screamed. He started sleep-talking. It was so loud that his mother heard him. She rushed to Ethan's room and found him talking to himself while sleeping. All he could say was, "Somebody! Somebody, help! Somebody, help!"
She rushed to her son and tapped him. She woke him up. "What is the problem?" she said.
Ethan woke up immediately and grabbed his mother. He was shivering.
"I am sorry, Mother. I will not watch any horror film at night again. I just had a bad dream."
His mother held him firmly and said, "It's okay, my boy."
His mother talked to him about how dangerous it was for him to keep watching horror movies at night. She also consoled him, but Ethan said he could not sleep alone unless his mother slept in the same room with him because he was afraid of the dark.
His mother had no choice but to sleep in that room. He would just hold his mother so tied and would be threaten upon any noise. It was actually a long night for his mother and a hectic one as she had to deal with his behavior. The next day, she dressed him up and took him to school herself.
Ethan was not himself, even at school. He wasn't concentrating too well. He never came out for games, and he did not visit the playground during break. His friends noticed that and came up to him.
"What's up? What is wrong with you today?"
Ethan told them what had happened, and they all laughed about it. That actually pissed him off, and he walked away from them to a quiet place and sat down.
He began to reflect on the kind of situation he had been in the previous night and decided never to watch horror movies at late hours again.
For the past month since that day, Ethan had only been interested in things that cheered him up. That event actually brought a turnaround for Ethan because he started focusing on his studies. His desire changed, and he developed an interest in only positive attitudes that would cheer him up.
