Home from home; The Blue Ball Inn, Countisbury North Devon. I really can't rave about it enough. As soon as I walk through the wooden, latched door, I really feel like I've entered a second home. As I mentioned, we couldn't get three nights here hence our one night of 馃槺 at The Captains House. As we entered Jan, the new owner greeted us and, after handing over the key, said: "You know where you're going, don't you seeing as you're a regular." to be honest, I thought: "MADE IT! You walk up a little track to it, then through the gate up through the graveyard through another gate, and you're on Exmoor National Parkland. I've already uploaded a film showing Charlie and me walking up there during the gale-force winds.

We've visited Ilfracombe before but never been to look at Verity the statue by Damien Hirst

Wikipedia: The name of the piece refers to "truth", and Hirst describes his work as a "modern allegory of truth and justice". The statue depicts a pregnant woman holding aloft a sword while carrying the scales of justice which are skewed and standing on a pile of law books.

The wife, after looking at it for a while, said: "Hmm? I need to go and have a think about that." for probably the first and only time I wasn't sure if she was serious or taking the p...
