Greetings Summoners
In my last Splinterlands post, I talked about my preference playing Splinterlands with defensive formation. Today I will share another aspect about playing defensively or using defensive meta.
I believe there is no perfect defense in Splinterlands, there are stronger ones or maybe some of the best, but none bested the others. There is no holy grail in defend, everything is about compatibility.
Compatibility in defense can be said that our defense can counter opponent attacks. So it is all about guessing what kind of attack your opponent will use. Magic attack, Melee attack, snipe attack, opportunity attack, sneak attack and others.
So let me share you a battle so I can describe it better...
So here is our battle, it was a battle in modern bronze rank. We just had a new season started, and I started it from Bronze League. That's why it was a bronze rank battle.
I chose this battle because it was a battle that I could say my team complete all the counter for my opponent. That's why this post title is
A Complete Countered Condition
Before we go further, let see first the condition of the battle we have here:
so in a glance, they had stronger attack power, they had recovery ability too, the tank heal from their meriput magician. and the most dangerous one, they had Mimic ability from Olivia The Brook.
However their pros there would mean nothing because they all were countered by my defensive meta. So how did my defensive meta countered them?
My Quillun Legionary had shield and void ability, so he could withstand any incoming attack better. My opponent had 1 magic damage, it would not be able to hurt him at all.
They had two melee units, which should be to make a small difference, however Quillun Legionary had thorn ability. So before those melee managed to build up something, they died first from the thorn damage.
I wondered why people still took this ability lightly, it was one of the most important in playing defensively. I think one day I would make a post just to talk about this ability
They had olivia the brook who was meant as alternate attack. She would pick the weakest target and killed it. However all her attacks were nulled by the Lookout ability. So she became one of the useless units.
Not all my defensive meta worked in that battle. My aimed was more on the sneak attackers. In the end it would not work because there wasn't any sneak attacker in my opponent team.
You can say that this one is my test subject for another turtle defense formation. it usually worked in low mana cap, below 30 like this one. in higher mana cap, defensive approach tends to be harder.
My team won very convincing, we had no causalities at all. My opponent even could not hurt any of our units, well they only managed to deplete my Quillun Legionary armor.
Did my defense work? of course it worked very well, but all were due to my opponent attacks got countered. If they did these things, my defensive meta here would not work at all:
That's all I want to deliver in this post, I hope you get entertained with this topic, and feel free to leave your comments and opinions below.
