Today, I've played multiple matches but I will share one only and let's see how this battle went.
Battle Rules
Mode: Modern Ranked
Mana Cap: 48
Modifier: Rise of the Exemplars (You can summon your exemplar)
Available: Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon
Choosing My Team
For this battle I picked Aurendrak as my summoner. Aurendrak has abilities as you know one of them is Flank which gives Reach to the second position unit and another is Void to take less damage from magic attacks.
Here is how I arranged my team:
My Team
- Summoner: Aurendrak
- Position 1: Spellmonger (No attack, has Thorns)
- Position 2: Nim Guard Captain (Melee attack with Void)
- Position 3: Vengeful Monk (Melee attack)
- Position 4: Vaelok (Magic attack with Flying)
- Position 5: Sorrow Harvester (Magic attack with Weaken)
- Position 6: Grand Consul Minion (No attack)
I thought maybe I should put Spellmonger in the first position which could be bring disadvantage for my opponent. Even though it has no attack, its Thorns returns 2 physical damage whenever a melee monster hits it, so that was my plan, hehe.
Behind it I had my Nim Guard Captain. Thanks to Aurendrak's Flank ability, Nim Guard Captain gains Reach and can attack right from the second position! Plus it has Void to reduce magic damage.
Next wad my most favourite Vengeful Monk in the front line. It will target the enemy unit with the least health so I never want this monster out of my team.
Then I wanted to use a different monster today so I choose Vaelok. It deals magic damage and has Flying which gives a chance to evade physical attacks. Also, it has good amount of health bar.w
After that I put my another favorite monster which is Sorrow Harvester. I always like its Weaken ability because it reduces -1 max health to all enemy units. So, she is in my priority list.
After that I added Grand Consul Minion in the last position.
Battle Highlights
My opponent was MALATA with no guild, running a team led by a level 3 summoner.
As the battle started in a while Sorrow Harvester's Weaken ability immediately reduced all their units health. Which was an advantage for me. Also, Nim Guard Captain was giving a great performance. Vengeful Monk kept sniping their lowest health units with opportunity and my magic attackers like Vaelok and Sorrow Harvester kept pushing damage through.
In my opinion, my opponent had good cards but my combined physical and magic damage strategy was much better than my opponent's team.
At last, my team was able to win the match. I was happy to see that I didn't have to lose any of my monster and easily got the win. I mean spellmonger was gone but with grace.
Battle Result
My ratings got 340 in Bronze III league and I also received +82 glint. Anyway, I will try to be more consistent and level up my tier so maybe next time I will be in bronze II hopefully.
Claiming My Daily Reward
After winning this Modern Ranked match, I played a few frontier ranked matches. Then I noticed my Daily Reward progress bar was filled and I had rewards to claim. So of course I went ahead and claimed it right away, hehe.
Here are the cards I got from the chest:
- Frankarsgard (Common)
- Vengeful Monk (Rare)
- Lenore Nevermore (Epic)
I got an Epic card of Lenore Nevermore for the first time. So, I won't need the delegated card anymore.
Final Thoughts
After a long time I could play lot's of matches so I enjoyed using Aurendrak.
I was in higher rank but for some reasons my monster placing has not been so good as before. So I'm kinda stuck in bronze III, but pulling Lenore Nevermore from my Daily Reward right after the match was just great, hehe.
