Hey guys, how is your Splinterlands matches been going? Here to share another Modern Ranked battle with everyone. This time I got a 34 Mana battle and the ruleset was Global Warming. I was hoping to get another win but this one was unexpected. I won't give spoilers read it for yourself.

Match details

Mana: 34

Elements: All Elements

Ruleset: Global Warming

Modifier: All units have the Burning status effect applied at the start of combat.

So this was a little different battle because of the Burning effect. All the units were going to get Burning and lose 2 health. There was also a chance for the Burning to spread to nearby units. So I knew that the health of the cards could go down pretty quickly during the battle.

My Team

With 34 Mana available I decided to use Thalgrimore as my summoner.

I took death element and tried to make a team which can give enemy a tough time. Since the Burning effect was going to damage everyone I was not really sure how long the battle would continue.

Here was my lineup:

1st Position – Nim Guard Captain

2nd Position – Spellmonger

3rd Position – Sorrow Harvester

4th Position – Vengeful Monk

5th Position – Careless Badger

My Team

I placed Nim Guard Captain in the first position because I wanted him to take the attacks from the enemy team. I thought he would be a good choice for the frontline and hopefully could stay there for a while.

Behind him I placed Spellmonger. I have used Spellmonger in some of my previous battles and I like using this card when I can. I wanted him to take attacks and reduce enemy's health.

For the third position I used Sorrow Harvester. I wanted an attacking card in the middle and thought it could be useful once the battle started.

In the fourth position I placed Vengeful Monk. I was hoping that he has 2 melee attack power so he could help reduce health faster.

For last position I used Careless Badger and I think I am using it for the first time I don't know much about it's abilities yet. I wanted to test him so I placed him for the fifth position.

The Global Warming ruleset, I am very familiar with it. I was thinking how it's going to make our battle tougher. So honestly I was not sure what was going to happen in this battle. Sometimes these rulesets can change the ending of a match.

How the Battle Went

My enemy was someone named MALATA his name is similar to a fruit we call "Malta". Anyway the battle started and I was watching the health of the cards because of the Burning effect. I was worried as my cards would get eliminated for burning not because of the enemy attack.

Nim Guard Captain was in the first position and started taking the attacks from the enemy team. Behind him Spellmonger and the other cards were helping our team to survive as long as they could.

I was mostly waiting to see which team would start losing cards first. As the rounds were ending both teams were losing card rapidly.

Honestly it made the battle interesting because sometimes I was looking at my cards and thinking they might survive another round and then the Burning effect would reduce their health again.

My enemy was also doing a good job of keeping their team alive. Spellmonger continued attacking from the second position when he got attacked and Sorrow Harvester and Vengeful Monk were also trying to help the team.

I thought maybe my team could win but it was not happening. Both teams were losing health and the fight was taking longer than I had imagined.

After a few rounds it became clear that this was going to be a very close battle.

I was watching the cards disappear one by one but still neither team could finish the other side.

The battle had no result means no one lost or won. It was an absolute draw and unexpected. So this time no victory for me. Honestly I was hoping for another win but this was still an interesting battle. The Global Warming ruleset really changed the way the battle played out because all the units were constantly losing health.

Looking Ahead

This was another Modern Ranked battle for me but this time I could not get the victory. My team was able to stay in the battle but in the end neither side could finish the other.

Well, not every battle can be a win and sometimes we get these kinds of results also. It's not bad at least I'm not losing anything. I wanted to share a sad thing which had happened. Today when I tried to play battles I have lost many times and it was quite depressing but I got the courage to play one last match and it was a draw.
