There is a different kind of twist in playing low mana battles where you have to be very careful with monster selection. You have to select your best monsters with low mana and position them properly and that too according to the rulesets.
If no ruleset comes then it can be an easy selection but in hard rulesets you have to select your monsters very carefully because in any battle your chances of winning increase when you understand the ruleset correctly and make your strategy and plan according to it.
Today's 19 mana battle was very interesting. Since this was a low mana battle I was definitely confused about monster selection. Because of the Global Warming ruleset I had to focus more on which monster I should give more preference to.
First before the battle let's understand the rulesets which monsters I selected according to these rulesets how I positioned them and under what strategy I played this battle.
RULESET ONE: ELITE FORCE
According to this ruleset you cannot summon any Common Unit. All the Common Units in your deck will become disabled. Apart from this you can easily summon Wild, Frontier and other cards that are not under such restricted rulesets.
That is why I have always emphasized adding all types of monster cards to your deck no matter which family they belong to. This way you get flexibility in monster selection in these types of rulesets.
Now I had other monster cards besides Common Units so I did not face any difficulty in monster selection according to this ruleset. So according to this ruleset your strategy should be to select your best monster cards belonging to other families.
RULESET TWO: GLOBAL WARMING
This is a very dangerous ruleset for both teams where all units whether they are allied or enemy Units will have the Burning status effect applied to them. This happens at the start of combat and at the beginning of Round Two.
The Burning effect has a 33 percent chance of spreading to an adjacent unit as well. When a unit gets the Burning effect it will lose 2 Health.
This means that because of the Burning effect at the end of every round the Health of all your monsters will decrease by 2.
But it is also important to keep in mind that if you have a monster card with the Cleanse ability it can Cleanse Burning meaning it can remove its effect.
According to this ruleset it is important to give preference to high-Health monster cards in your deck. One side you will receive attacks from enemy units and on the other side because of Global Warming all monsters will continue losing 2 Health every round.
Instead of only focusing on your attack strategy according to this ruleset it is important to give preference to high-Health monsters.
MY STRATEGY AND MONSTER SELECTION ACCORDING TO RULESETS
According to both of these rulesets my strategy was to select my Archon monster with the Plus One speed ability. This will increase the speed of all my Elite Units by 1 which can help them survive the Burning effect to a greater extent.
I selected such a monster for my front line that has no attack power but has good Armor and Health. Monsters like this are successful in these types of battles. Most importantly it has an excellent ability called Dodge which gives it a 25 percent chance to avoid any physical attack from an enemy. So there is a higher chance that the enemy attack will miss.
In the second position I selected only a Magic attacker whose Health was the best in my deck. Since I did not have any other option besides this I was forced to select this monster card.
I wanted to select a monster with even better Health but at that time I was missing such a card in my deck so I placed my monster lineup like this.
ON THE BATTLEFIELD
When I saw my monsters and my opponent's monsters on the battlefield I noticed that the opponent had some very good monsters in terms of attack but those monsters did not have much Health. Because of the Burning effect I felt that the opponent's team would be affected more and I could achieve success.
The battle started in a very powerful way. Heavy strikes were coming from both sides. But as I thought the Burning effect could destroy the monsters and exactly that happened.
From Round One to Round Two everything was going normally and there were continuous attacks from both sides. But as soon as Round Two ended the Burning effect was applied. One of the opponent's two monsters was destroyed by the Burning effect while the Health of the other one became very low.
Then with just one attack from my Magic attacker that monster was also eliminated and this way I got a very excellent victory.
This is what happens when you understand the ruleset properly and select your monsters according to it. Your chances of winning increase.
So in this battle I got a very excellent victory and in today's battle I will give the title of my favorite monster to Scales of Justice. Its Dodge ability made this possible and because it also had good Health and Armor it was able to make the Burning effect less effective.
What would your strategy be in this type of ruleset and which monsters would you give more preference to? I will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
