Hello, friends especially foodies!
Waiting is the most bored things to do, do you agree with me? Like last Monday, when I needed to accompany mom to check her eye condition after the surgery. We needed to wait for a long time to see the doctor, but this time we didn’t lose our mind, we had prepared some breads and snacks so we could hold on until more than lunch time, huh! And after that we still needed to wait for the medicine for me in the pharmacy, this too took time.
The Restaurant Outlook
When we finally totally finished from the hospital, it was almost 2 pm. Too late to get our lunch, right? Then we went to the nearest shopping center there, went to one of the famous soto restaurant there.
Here how the restaurant looked
At the front you could see some of their menu they put in the banners, some penyetan packages (penyetan I mean is the smashed fried food in chilli paste). They also had new menu, malang meatballs. Plus they also put some photos of their menus on a banner.
The restaurant itself looked modest with large green fabric to close their area because it actually still fasting month and many didn’t eat during this time.
The Dining Area
Inside they had a quite large dining area with the wooden furnish. The chairs there were long, like what traditionally there in the canteens. Inside you also could see their traditional wooden stalls, to sell their soupy dishes. The dining area was clean and neat. None there as we arrived there not in the dining time.
The Menu
Maybe you already saw their menu outside, but inside they had more detail menus.
For the food, they had their authentic and special chicken lamongan soto, of course. They also still had catfish pecel, smashed chicken, tek tofu, fried duck, smashed fish, chicken liver with chilli paste, water spinach stirred, beansprout stirred, fried tofu/tempeh or even smashed, mendoan tempeh, salted egg, fried egg, rice/ricecake and also fried chips.
For the drink, they had kind of tea, milk, coffee and juice.
Not many kind of dishes, but you of course should try their best authentic special menu, soto!
The Preparation Time
It took the waitress only 10 minutes to prepare our soto. We could see how she tore off the chicken, prepared the glass noodle and other ingredients plus poured on our soto soup behind the traditional stall it had!
The Food & The Look
Here how our late lunch looked
We ordered two rice mixed with their authentic chicken lamongan soto, two fried chips and a bottle of mineral water.
The soto looked yummy with that yellow color, plus it had much koya on the top. Koya is traditionally made from garlic tasty powder. It had soft peach color and usually tasted savory. It completed the soto you had so it got more thick texture and would improve the tastiness, of course.
The Taste & The Flavour
As could be predicted, they put much koya on the soto, it made the taste of the soto tastier and of course more savory than the original taste. It had soft chicken meat, boiled chicken egg, glass noodle, and rice. They also put celery and koya on the top. The soto soup was thick, delicious! We also ordered the crispy fried chips which had sweet and a bit savory as a companion to our soto. The soto there actually was one of the best soto lamongan you should try!
The Price
No cheap price for tasty qualified food, huh? It costed us 97K IDR or around 6.78 USD for the lunch. How do you think about this price?
Wanna come and try one of our best lamongan soto?
