Hello, friends especially foodies!

Do you know Holland?

Yes I know you might guess it is a city which is located in Europe but what I am talking here is an old famous brand bakery from my city Jakarta which named Holland Bakery. This bakery has served us since 1978 and it is still famous until now.

Luckily two weeks ago, we met one of the branch of it, only a stall, in one of the shopping center that we went to so we then suddenly decided to buy some to take home. Here how the outlet looked

It didn’t large and it located among other food stalls at LG floor.

And here what they sold.

They had many kind of bread there, as you could see, at the top of their glass showing case they sold some big size cakes in boxes, filling bread, toast. For the bread they had many kind of it, from cheese chocolate, raisins, chocolate, cheese, banana cheese, mung bean, 3 flavour, chicken meatballs, beef floss, butter, chocolate custard and some other kind of bread. They also sold roasted lemper and soes cake too there.

On the chilled glass showing case they had cheese cake, pudding in cup, fruit soes (which were super rare recently, look they only had 2 of it), tart creamy cakes, and log pudding, Hmmh yum! Mom and I chose what we wanted..

After finished choosing what we wanted we then paid and took our takeaway.

We even couldn’t hold ourselves to eat some at home, so we ate some when we had some tofu in the food court before going home that day. Here what we had there…

It called fruit soes cake. It was rare so not every branch sold it.

You could eat it in two ways. I opened the base part of soes pastry then turned it up, so it was just like a whipped cream on top soes cake but with fruit and vanilla paste filling. While mom she ate it just the way it was..

But no matter how you ate it, it was always so perfect. It had sweet a bit savory flavour (savory came from the outer which was soes pastry). The topping were some fruits like cherries and orange. Below it was sweet yummy thick paste. Best served chilled we enjoyed the best of it by eating it in the shopping center (it might melt during the journey if we took it home).

Still, at home we had another thing we bought as takeaway…

This one was pandan coconut pudding log. It had some layers. On the bottom was green pandan cake, then green pandan pudding, next coconut milk pudding and on the top, real young coconut inside the pudding. Plus it served with vanilla sauce.

Could you imagine how the flavour was? It had sweet savory flavour with real young coconut. The cake was a bit weird for me, I didn’t like it and fortunately we loved other layers of the pudding. It contained milk too as you could see in the green layer part. It was an authentic combination flavour of the young coconut, milk, coconut milk, brown sugar, agar-agar and cake, so it was tasty and fresh. Perfect dessert!

We also still had their zebra cup pudding and also chocolate filling bread.

The bread was soft and inside was real chocolate, which had sweet bitter chocolate authentic flavour. While the zebra pudding had sweet flavour and served with no vanilla sauce.

For the takeaway we paid 80,200 IDR and I got 15K IDR so it was 65,200 IDR or just around 4.4 USD and I think this price was fair.
