Hello, friends especially foodies!
On Saturday, with some co-workers I needed to have workshop in our company’s main building. When we finally finished the occasion, the evening was taking over, well we needed to eat before we were going back home. One of the choice of eating near the area, where they sold the food in tents, and we needed to explore the area before we decided what to eat. The area was quite large with some lanterns on the top of some areas.
One tent that we passed sold padangnese satay and empal gentong, a traditional cooked beef with the soup..
When we then continued our journey, some other tents were there, they sold noodle, shewmay and some other of street food. Even on the first tent I had seen before they sold malang meatballs.
This was how the gate to this place looked, it was still under maintenance as you could see, because it supposed to be their entry gate but the area inside was still not ready yet.
After a bit confused, my friends and I considered to try to eat balls. They sold tofu balls, shewmay and also meatball. These were how they processed our order, only picked up the ready cooked tofu ball, shewmay and meatball, put them in a bowl then gave them soup.
Actually it was the menu that they had, only three kind of them, tofu ball, shewmay and meatball. But we could choose to be put in soup or with their peanut sauce.
Here how my dinner looked
It contained tofu ball which had savory a bit sour flavour (it means it wasn’t fresh), their shewmay was too soft with savory flavour and they also had meatball which was a bit hard. The soup was savory and overall I thought my dinner was just so so, and it had 35K IDR price or around 2,3 USD, not cheap with only 3 pieces of contain inside.
This place had a quite large dining area, and they’re pretty too with the lanterns, and like you could see it was on the street, and it only happened on weekend.
After having my dinner I still wanted to try another balls. So I ordered the one called ronde, it actually the balls made from flour and it had peanut filling. What made it different there, they made it right away you ordered, so the balls were freshly handmade.
Here how them look
I ordered the big with the peanut filling but the seller also gave some small with no peanut filling in my bowl. The big with peanut filling had medium sweetness and a bit savory peanut flavour. It had ginger soup as the companion like usually so it had warm feeling, but it didn’t too spicy, so I could have it well.
We also had some pictures on the street near the lanterns.
Oh yes anyway this area had some live music too like the one I found in a corner.
