Hello, friends especially foodies!
On Sunday before the Sunday Service, I went to the plaza right before the mall where my church is. This plaza had a quite large Food Court which was located on their 3rd floor. Eventhough it hadn’t dine time yet, some customers were there before me. The food court was comfortable and clean, it also had its’ own washing hands area and also rest rooms.
Enough with the Food Court now let me dig in to the Food Stall where I bought my ramen. Actually it was a popular Nagoya authentic ramen brand, Sugakiya. This was my first time bought the ramen there because usually I bought it in the Food Print, a Food Court in Grand Indonesia Shopping Center.
Here how the stall looked
Located in one of the food court’s corner, the stall was still empty, this was a good thing because then later right after me other customers came. Here how the customers lined up after me.
The hint, you should come earlier if you want to be served first.
Sugakiya, the name of the food stall is a Japanese Nagoya’s specialist ramen seller. So the main dishes they served were ramen. They put the menu on the monitor up behind the cashier desk and also the manual paper menu on their cashier desk.
The choices of menu that they offered:
• They had their seasonal ramen such as Chilli Tomato Ramen, Sura Tanmen and Curry Ramen.
• They sold their signature ramen such as Special Ramen (it had more toppings which consisted of five slices of the barbeque chicken, an egg, mushroom and also leeks), Sugakiya Ramen (authentic sugakiya ramen which means you only got two slices of their barbeque chicken, mushroom and leeks), Egg Ramen (it was same with sugakiya ramen, but you would get half of their egg), Niku Iri Ramen (you would get five slices of barbeque chicken toppings), and Spicy Ramen (same with Sugakiya Ramen but with spicy flavour like its’ name).
• There they also had Mazesoba, the dry ramen with the choice of original and also spicy. Plus, they also had tori don, tebasaki, fried gyoza and also fried takoyaki.
• And for the sweets they had kurizen (red nut iced), matcha kinitoki, Sundae, shaved ice, cone ice cream, buavita, mineral water and of course ocha.
They also packaged their ramen with sidedish or dessert plus ocha, so you don’t need to order them separately. I also choose the package cause it would be more practical.
After I paid I got the pager, an alarm that would ring and beep when the food was ready. It was 67K IDR for me to buy the package of special ramen, gyoza and ocha, so it was around 4.2 USD for the package I bought.
After around 10 minutes of waiting, the alarm beeped and rang, time for me to get my order. I right away took my order to their stall, luckily I sat not far from the stall.
As you could see what I ordered was their Special Ramen, Gyoza and also Ocha.
Now let me tell you one by one of the taste and flavour of them..
First from the main dish I ordered SPECIAL RAMEN
I put on the chili slices to get a bit spicy flavour to their ramen. Well, no, I mean usually the broth they had was milk like and thick, but the one I got was just thin in flavour.. It wasn’t how I expected for the Nagoya ramen I usually had, I didn’t like it. Now let me tell you how about the chicken, the chicken they offered was too thick and not as sweet and savory like they usually, it was light in sweet and savory and also too thick, luckily the texture were still soft. The egg, I asked for the ¾ boiled one, so it was almost totally boiled, I didn’t like it and preferred the half boiled I usually ordered one. And the noodle, some of it dumped and pasted themselves together one another. So this time the ramen from this stall was a nay for me, and I don’t recommend you to have any from this stall.
Luckily I still had their GYOZA
Their gyoza served with the chilli oil. The gyoza had crispy but soft skin. It also had thick chicken filling inside with savory flavour. The chilli oil brought the spicy flavour to it too. So that time, the gyoza helped me a lot to not to be too disappointed with their ramen.
Don’t forget that I still had their free flow OCHA
Still okay in the morning because the ice cube they put on the dispenser hadn’t melted yet. I asked my ocha to be medium hot so it was fresh and warm.
So I don’t recommend Nagoya Japanese Ramen from this food stall but I recommend you the one in Food Print, their branch in Grand Indonesia Shopping Center.
