Hello, friends especially foodies!

Before I start my story about food today, I would like to say to all of you, Happy New Year 2024, wish you all a successful and a happy new year ahead...

I had my birthday on December 23rd and I had the tradition with my late mother to have dine out and sometimes even watch a movie to celebrate our birthdays. Sadly and unfortunately I couldn't celebrate my birthday with her again.
Instead of having sadness on my birthday, in this birthday I brought someone I called mommy to celebrate my birthday. Mommy is my childhood's friend's mother and she is also my mother's best friend.

So busy during her morning, we only could reach the restaurant at almost 3 pm. What a late birthday lunch I got!

PIZZA MARZANO

Pizza Marzano itself is an international brand of pizza restaurant which already operated since 1960's and it is quite popular in my city, Jakarta.

The branch that we went that day was located on the Lower Ground of Senayan City Mall. It was also popular like their many other branches. Even they had their chairs almost full that day. Well okay, it wasn't lunch time and it wasn't dinner time either so I thought many people enthusiast in having pizza or pasta that time.

DINING AREA

The interior of the pizza restaurant was dominated with wood. Like they had wooden floor and wooden chairs. They also had some sofas too. For the table they used marble, but i don't think that they use the real marble one, it was okay to put marble as the luxury touch. Anyway this place also got lots of light which made it totally bright.

And for a restaurant I think they had a quite large of dining area which was almost full that day like i told you before. In one of the corner you could see their open kitchen, where they prepared all of the food and beverage, so you could see it yourselves.

MENU

Unique thing about their menu was they put the drinks at the front part of their menu book. They had some mocktails such as sjora series which had 3 choices of mango peach, kiwi float and strawberry float. Still in moctail, they also had zesty fresh, sunset breeze, kiwi peach cooler, strawberry mint ice tea, berry citrus lemonade, orange cooler, lychee iced tea and orange peach iced tea (which was the favorite there). They also still got some tea an coffees, soda drinks, lemon squash fresh juice or even refill drinks.

For the starter, they had bruschetta caprese, funghi Al Forno, Baked Chicken Wings, Grand Pollo Milanese, Burrata with Roasted Tomato and Pesto, Baked Potato Wedges, Hot Honey Dough Balls and also Funghi Zuppa Di Pollo.

For the pizza, they had many to offer. You could pick your choices from classic pizza like Milano, Quarter Carni, N'duja Beef, Sausage and Friarielli, Lava...

Still in classic pizza they got Margherita, Funghi Di Bosco, Quattro Formaggi, Chicago, Trifolata, and American.

They also still got some kinda Romana pizzas to offer.

And of course, the pasta menus too.

Anyway they also had some jingle bites menu they put on our table that unfortunately I saw after we had had ordered the menu. Oops!

After had had ordered, we waited for around 10 minutes to get our drinks delivered then we needed to wait for another 15 minutes to get the soup, bruschetta and also pizza.

Now let me tell you about all of we had that day.

First, I would like to start from the drinks, because they came first. Mommy chose LYCHEE ICED TEA while me I tried their popular ORANGE PEACH ICED TEA.

Their lychee iced tea was sweet, even too sweet for mommy, it made her asked for more ice cubes to the waitress. The taste of this tea was fresh and chill with real lychees in there too.

While mine, i like this popular drink. It had tasty fresh peach flavour with dominantly orange flavour and also real orange inside. It tasted fresh, sweet and sour, made me so into it.

Now I would like to share to you about their food

First, mommy's favorite FUNGHI ZUPPA DI POLLO

The pastry they put on the top of the soup was soft with parsley on its' top. I broke the pastry to eat the soup, like all of us do for this kinda soup. Served totally hot, it contained mushroom soup with chicken too. It had a bit creamy texture with savory flavour. I didn't say it taste worst but it was less delicious than the one i had on their other branch. Oh no, right!

The second, BRUSCHETTA CAPRESE

It was freshly baked garlic bread topped with their garlic butter, fresh mozzarella cheese, slow roasted tomatoes, basil leaf and finished with pesto sauce. But it really didn't come tasty in my mouth. The basil and tomato brought the raw veggie flavour and fragrant. The cheese they used like the goat cheese, stinky and weird. Overall, we couldn't eat it. It was yuck and so nay for us.

Last thing, QUATTRO CARNI PIZZA

The pizza bread was so hard to cut with their knife, it was better to bite it with our teeth than to cut it with knife. So we needed to be a bit primitive, used hands to have it. I had the one slice with the beef pepperoni and some chicken on it. It had only savory dominant flavour and awkwardly I couldn't taste any sour sweet flavour from the sauce they put on it. So this pizza was a nay for us too! Even we couldn't finished it that day...

Of course I would not come to PIZZA MARZANO in this branch again, it is not my taste!
