First of all, I have stopped whining about #steem for like a year and a half. I remember the last tantrum I throw was last April or so. Lemme quickly dig it back. Here we go - 5 freaking reasons to leave steemit.
Last year, we had one of the hardest hard fork in the history of #steem #blockchain as I was informed. For an entire week, people are suffering from RC shortage and VP depletion. Yeah right, talking about continuity and sustainability. So much so one program change and everybody stuck. Will it happen again this time in #hf21 ? Well, according to the officials, it will be as smooth as previous "H A HA HAchoooo" excuse me, hard fork. It will be seemsless and nobody will even notice the change. All we need to do is sit back and relax(yeah, like if we could do anything do help smoothen the process).
What to expect? According to the official announcement here, lemme give a quick quote so you don't have to read the whole damn thing.
The rewards curve is changing. We expect posts that would make more than 20 STEEM under the old rules to earn more after the changes. Those posts that would have made less than 20 STEEM under the old rules will receive less after the changes.
Well, this is really interesting. Which means, real writers like myself, who has a bunch of organic supporters with low SP, are getting paid less. Those who have hundred thousands of SP, all they gotta do is hit the upvote button for themself, and people will follow them to upvote their post because their post will yield more payout. Don't question them, because deep down in your heart, you know they're right. Good author automatically eligible getting paid 20steems and above. If you're below 20steems category, meaning you are a horrible post author.
Last but not least, one more very intriguing fact I find how people think they got it figured out. Once again, lemme put a quote here, so you can save sometime digging the post, and I get to fill up more text on my post.
We believe that these three changes, when packaged together, will shift the behavior of Steem Power holders in a positive way. Under these changes self-voting and bidbot usage will become less profitable than curating good content. While on paper author rewards are reduced, and curation rewards increased, we believe these changes will make it easier for good content to be discovered and rewarded, simply because that type of positive curation behavior will become more profitable under the EIP.
Wow! I am so very excited with the change.
- Even if I don't get paid 20steems per post, it's alright, I can buy vote from the bot.
- The vote selling bot is an idiot, doesn't change the voting weight.
- The bidbot operator is an idiot, they don't adjust the payout for their delgator because their curation reward has increased.
- The bidbot delegator is also an idiot, to pull back all the delegated steem and start to create 10 posts a day and self upvote.
- With the new system, selfupvote become useless because of the 50% reward. So, I am the curator, I am the author, I will be more happy to receive my reward 75/25 rather than 50/50.
All in all, I take every single word from the officials. And I'm very thankful they came up with this marvelous way to govern the community. Now, lemme make sure I have enough liquid funds to buy unprofitable vote from vote seller, so I can past that 20steems mark. Really looking forward on 30% APR from bidbots now. Hehe.
