Last time I posted HIVE was 0.00725 USD above STEEM, now HIVE is worth only 0.00588 more, the gap is quickly closing.
This is a trend that can be seen on ALL TIME FRAMES and I blame inflation. On the daily chart it is harder to see but over longer periods the sad trend is clearer.
Using the CMC compare feature to compare HIVE to STEEM accross a few time frames. The comparison shows % change to date, such as % change 1 year to date, percentage change 1 month to date etc...
If a line is on top means the percentage change is higher, so it either gained more value more or devalued less.
STEEM is the red line, HIVE is the blue line. If you are colorblind/daltonic STEEM is the line that is always painfully on top.... We are the ones either gaining less value or losing more value...
The trend is clear, we will get left behind if we don't reduce inflation significantly. We are already near getting behind and cutting inflation now may only show results months or years ahead, because not all printed HBD/HIVE was sold yet. It is not a good position to be in.
We have the same income as Steem, which is zero because neither of us has ads, business or anything bringing in cash revenue.
On top of that we have the DHF increasing inflationary pressure. Every proposal, every dollar, printed over time compounds. Every "oh it is just 100 HBD a day" or "t is only a 1000 HBD in total proposal" counts in the end because it is extra inflation.
1 week ago we were worth 0.00725 USD more than STEEM, now the gap is 0.00588, give it a few weeks to months and the gap will close or invert and they will be worth more than us.
We will be left behind by an abandoned chain. The way to avoid it is to have A LOWER INFLATION THAN THE ABANDONED CHAIN.
Anything beyond that at this point is being an economic flat-earther.
We can and should find business models that bring in cash revenue, but it costs us hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to onboard a single user . Single users do not buy HIVE and may not consume the true cash revenue generating products and services we are yet to develop.
The financially responsible way to stop our bankruptcy is cutting down inflation.

Remove your support from other proposals.
Talk to the people doing otherwise and causing inflation. This is supposed to be a democracy and such things are discussed and talked about, not voted and forgotten.
Optionally show you want a more financially responsible DHF by supporting the scaling of DHF payments following already existing on-chain HBD printing suppression rules :

Do not be silent while we risk sinking further and faster than an abandoned chain...
