Practise!

When you first start, just skating around is the best way to get the feel.
Whenever you need to go somewhere near, skate there. This will belp you get more balance ont he skateboard, after about 5 days of practising skating around I'd say now to start trying things like going down curbs and up the little ones, and then practising to ollie once you can do that.

Dont try things above your skill set!

If theres one thing I've learnt, its that you cannot try things above your skillset if you want to progress!
Yes you want to kickflip, heelfip and others, but they wont look good and it wont be easy u til you master your ollie. Getting the ollie down is the main thing for flip tricks as it allows you more time to plan in the air. So make sure you get your ollies up curbs, over gaps and about before starting flip tricks.

Be Confident!

Confidence on a skateboard really is a big thing!
Commiting to a trick can be the difference between flying off or sticking the landing. Keep your legs slightly bent and your feet heavy to the board, whenever your skating and its bumpy just keep pressing your weight when you feel a bump!

Few little tips anyway ✌
