Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

Yesterday, March 2nd, was International Rescue Cat Day!

This day was created about 10 years ago to draw attention to the needs of shelter cats, and to the Hoomans who help the find forever homes, and assist with fostering and otherwise help make the lives of homeless cats better.

All the cats that live here were shelter cats who got off to a difficult start in their lives. In fact, the Hoomans say they have only ever had rescue cats, including a couple that just "showed up" one day and never left!

In fact, the Dad-Hooman's cat Max showed up at his birthday party 40 years ago... a large kitten that just walked in to a house full of people, through an open door. I guess you could say that Max "rescued himself!"

Anyway, the world is filled with street cats who would love to have a safe place to call home!

If you are considering adopting a cat as a companion, why not skip the pet shop or breeder, and adopt a shelter cat instead? We make loving and loyal companions!

The best cat toys are often free!

Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
