I have seen more butterflies fluttering about this year than I have in a long time. I don't know if there's more of them this year, I'm outside/noticing them more, or just around more plants they like to munch on, but I'm definitely enjoying it. I blame the Hive for this photo, I was out on the deck this past weekend, enjoying the weather and writing a post when I noticed this critter flittering around and had to grab my camera.
I can't decide if I like the color or the B&W version better, which do you prefer? The flower it is on is a Mexican sunflower, if you want yard butterflies of your own next year just plant a few seeds in the spring (sedum is another lovely flower that the butterflies rather like) and wait a few months!
