Police chopper hovers over Police headquarters on July 25 as NFAC marches into downtown

Cold and covid have put a damper on protesting here in Louisville lately. The weather here is supposed to be particularly nasty this week and that's got me to thinking about warmer weather and activities.

I really want to go camping, I didn't get to go any last year thanks to all the fun and excitement. Right now it feels like everybody is waiting and marking time until the weather warms back up and we can get back to the fun and excitement.

Despite all that went down last year, not much has really changed in regards to LMPD and how they act and interact with the community (they can't use no knock warrants anymore at least). One of the things they kept emphasizing during the protests was the need for people to get out and vote. Now that that's behind us, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what comes next.

Since we're still waiting on justice for Breonna Taylor, I suspect that there won't be much peace to go around once the weather warms up. Between that and the fact that we can't seem to go for more than a week or two without law enforcement killing someone unnecessarily, means that it's only a matter time before we get the spark to light the powder keg that is this city.

So, where do we go from here? What do y'all think will happen once the weather warms up? I suspect that we'll pick up right where we left off last year but I haven't the slightest clue how that will play out.

It's time for me to head into work so I'm going to scoot on off here. If one of you could send me some warm weather it would be greatly appreciated. If you're bored and have got a minute, drop me a comment with your predictions on how protesting will go this year. Until next time, y'all take it easy!
