Well, I was traveling the entire time this contest was open, except for something like twelve hours at the end. But man, I've been in every week since I discovered the Steemit Iron Chef, so I really wanted to submit something. So here's my dinner last night, though it fails to live up to the contest's standards, at least it's something.
I'm supposed to include two ingredients from the previous sixteen weeks -- which is kind of a fun twist on the formula so far. Here, I've got tomato, onion, and potatoes, so three ingredients! :-D
Sadly, I didn't really make everything from raw, whole foods this time. I bought the pretzel buns from a bakery, I used Beyond Beef veggie burger patties (these are an amazing revolution in grocery-store veggie burgers!), and I even heated up frozen french fries.
But you know -- even starting with products like this, by giving appropriate care to treatment and the assembly, you can produce some pretty good food. Check out the toast on these buns:
With the best vedge that I can get this time of year, a little artistry in the condiments (add garlic to the mayo, swirl the ketchup and mustard), and making sure the cheese melts and then fries on the griddle around the patty, I can make a pretty good burger!
