The movie followed Larry Daley, a divorced father who struggled to balance his personal and professional life. He had a son whom he loved so much and always did everything possible to make him comfortable and happy but Larry worried that his constant career problems were affecting their relationship.
He kept trying different business ideas but none of them worked out. In order to prove himself to his son and give him a better life, Larry accepted a job as a night security guard at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
Larry's first night in the museum, turned out to be an adventure 馃槀. As night fell, and the museum closed for the day, the exhibits mysteriously came to life. The skeleton, miniature cowboys, Roman soldiers and other historical figure began moving around.
When Larry first saw it, he couldn't believe his eyes. He was confused and scared. When he finally calmed down, he tried to understand what exactly was happening.
He later discovered that they all came to life because of ancient Egyptian tablet belonging to Pharaoh Ahkmenrah . The tablet mysteriously brought them to life after sunset.
Larry soon discover that controlling everything and everyone in the museum wasn't going to be an easy job. At first, it was chaotic. Dinosaurs roamed through the halls, miniature cowboys and Roman soldiers kept fighting nonstop, historical figures began moving around, and a mischievous monkey named Dexter constantly got Larry into trouble.
The security guard job turned out to be the opposite of what Larry expected. The movie didn't make history look so boring, instead it made it look so interesting.
At first Larry was confused and frustrated, he felt like a loser and was uncertain about his future, but as the movie progressed, though he wasn't the perfect hero, he gradually started gaining confidence and his journey eventually became more meaningful.
Another character I loved in the movie was Robin Williams. He was a man of wisdom. He played a very important role in Larry's life. He became a source of encouragement for Larry, always encouraging him never to give up and continue believing in himself. According to him, being a true definition of a hero isn't that someone lacked fear, it's the ability to act despite the fear. He encouraged Larry with quotes like, "Anything's possible, Lawrence. If it can be dreamed, it can be done."
The relationship between Larry and Nick gave the movie its emotional centre. All Larry ever wanted wasn't just the job, but he wanted his son to believe in him. His son was his biggest motivation.
At first, when he told his son about his crazy experiences, he thought his father was crazy. But as the strange events unfolded, he saw how courageous his father was and began seeing him differently. Their relationship showed that no matter what, parents should remain present and involved in their children's lives, even when circumstances are difficult.
Larry showed that failure doesn't have to be the end of someone's story. When you fall, you rise up on your feet, dust yourself up and try again. Larry's journey showed that people could lose their way and still find a new sense of purpose.
