Esa Vida Nuestra/El Sentido del Sufrimiento / Resumen/ Puntos Ecency. [ESP-ENG]

English Version
Greetings friends of the Holos & Lotus community, I am pleased to present the summary of the 17th initiative entitled The Meaning of Suffering.
Talking about suffering has not been easy, there have been difficult expositions, of very hard situations lived by the participants or people close to them, many of them still latent; writing them means not only a challenge, but also an act of inner liberation, it is my wish that you can start healing and that this sharing of experiences, which has meant this initiative, has given you some tools to let go step by step, without minimizing even for a moment what is happening. My embrace of solidarity to each one of you, it has been an initiative with 40 participations, all of them very instructive.
There is a general coincidence and it is the inconvenience of remaining stuck to suffering or allowing it to delimit our life path. I rescue this expression: "a person or a situation cannot make you feel miserable for so long".
Several participants pointed out that this theme is also rooted in the culture: they talked about the mourning that used to take place, sometimes for a long time, and that it reflected the strength of the experience that a person or a whole family was going through.
It was intended to judge the pain of others according to the quality and type of mourning that was worn; people dressed in black, more to show that suffering to the other, than as a personal way of feeling it.
Now it is the networks that are in charge of showing others that pain.
It is also cultural the belief that everything must cost us to be precious and that what we obtain with a lot of effort, sacrifice and suffering is what is worth.
This leads us to two visions: the suffering that is carried within and that can even have a smile as a prelude, and that coincide in affirming that it is the worst, that of which little is said, but that forces the sufferer to seek a solution, and the suffering that is exposed and imposed, that can be linked in some cases to victimhood and that requires attention in the same way.
Several people also agreed in valuing suffering when it is capable of making us feel empathy. They analyzed that which is remembered as suffering for love, that which took away hunger or produced it in some cases. There were also humorous contributions to the topic.
In general, when the situations that generated suffering in the past are reviewed, in the light of time, it is noticed that they all diminished, which indicates that what is being experienced will also pass, there will remain a memory and a learning process and the certainty that it had to happen.
Another finding is the recognition that previous generations were more marked by suffering, the strong treatment received in the upbringing, together with the little affection, marked more austere faces in our ancestors; although nowadays we talk about the crystal generation, that one brings more accumulated pain, people have learned to accept themselves, and recognize that it is not on the side of suffering where the strength is.
Each person who is going through a difficult situation is in charge of other people who depend on him/her, he/she cannot sink in his/her own process, accept what is happening to him/her, with gratitude that even in the worst storm the calm returns is, possibly, the starting point towards recovery.
There were excellent posts, as always, for which I am very grateful. I have to select the three awards for Ecency points, which this week corresponded to:
