HEY THERE STEEMIAN!
Today I went for a jog around the place I’m staying and to my surprise, I passed by a small stall below a commercial building and behold, my favorite “Pansit” (Rice Noodles) of all time in the Philippines 🇵🇭 called PANSIT MALABON.
🍴🍴🍴
Since my younger days, Pansit Malabon played an important role in my family, it was considered bonding time with family since all of us loved this dish. We always ordered the big “Bilao” (weaved basket) enough for everyone.

Pansit Malabon is compsed of Rice Noodles, squid, shrimp, boiled eggs, onion leaves, cabbage, garlic and the secret “Palabok” sauce mostly comprising of Annato Powder or “Achuete” which gives the dish it’s orange color. The taste is very Filipino and not much of foreigners appreciate this dish based on my own inexpert research. Apparently, this tasteful dish cannot please everyone.
🥘🥘🥘
PANCIT MALABON EXPRESS is the only known place in Cebu, Philippines where this dish is served. They have a lot of branches spread throughout the province of Cebu and to my knowledge there are not much Pansit Malabon places in Manila either.
🤔🤔🤔
Price wise, Pansit Malabon is not that expensive, for a small single plate you get a mouthful as seen on the picture above.
It’s very reasonably priced and it’s great for family gatherings, reunions, vacations, etc. but one thing you need to know is this dish needs to be consumed within the day because it easily spoils.
