It is a great pleasure to be in this community on this beautiful Monday @needleworkmonday I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It is another week for us to share our creativity and I will be sharing with you all the creative design of this stylish hand bag I made from two colors of fabric with side zipper pocket , inner pockets and long handle on both sides.

There is this fabric with hard texture that was given to me by my mother in-law, it's one of the olden days fabric and as a seamstress, I thought it could be nice if I use it to make a hand bag that would last long and useful.

Cutting and sewing process of this stylish hand bag

Fo the main body of the hand bag, I measured and cut out 2 pieces of fabric measuring 9x14

For the side pocket with zipper, I measured and cut out 7x6" with lining and interfacing ironed on the main fabric

I cut out 2" from the piece for the side pocket and placed a zipper on it, it was sewn together with the lining on both sides

On one piece of the main body of the bag, I placed the zipper pocket on it at 3" away from the top on the center line and it was sewn together

For the long handle, I measured and cut out 2 pieces of 40x4" from a plain fabric, it was folded to the middle and in two before it was sewn on both sides

This handle was placed on the side pocket to cover the rough part and to design the bag in a beautiful and creative way

The same process was repeated on the other side of main fabric, just that the other side didn't have a side pocket

These two were set aside and I cut out another piece from a plain fabric measuring 9x14"

I placed both pieces with handles on each side and it was sewn together after which it was top stitched on both sides

I cut out lining measuring same shape with the main bag

For the inner pockets, I cut out 12x7" from the main fabric, it was folded in two and sewn round leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out

It was turned inside out and top stitched at the top after which I placed it on the center line of the lining with 3" away from top and it was sewn on both sides and bottom in a U shape

The lining was placed on the main fabric with zipper on both sides and it was sewn together and top stitched

I placed lining to lining and fabric to fabric while I sew on both sides leaving an opening on the lining where it can be turned inside out

I measured and cut out 1.5" on the four corners of the bag for it to have sitting bottom and it was sewn together

Finally, it was turned to the right side through the opening on the lining and this is the final and beautiful outcome

This is one of the creative design of hand bag i have made that i love so much and I hope you love it as well
